    Junior News

Kiwiana is our focus in all the Junior classes. We are learning about NZ as a country through our

dance, through art, science and myths and legends. We are really working hard to perfect our dancesso they are ready for the production in a few weeks.

Next term we are booked to go swimming in weeks 2 and 3. More details will come home before theend of term.

Please check your childrens reading folders for class and school notices daily.

It is vital that children come to school BEFORE 9.00 so they have time to unpack, socialise and settleinto school before the day begins. Mornings are peak learning time and when children are late they

    miss important learning.

Thank you to the parents who logged into the Junior blog and left lovely comments. If you haventtaken the time to check it out please do so.

    Senior News

Kiwiana- We are all very busy (when arent we?) with maintaining our learning programmes whilepreparing for our production Kiwiana. In all 4 classes we are using Maori myths and legends tosupport our reading and writing programmes. Classes are also using these to develop drama skits, role

plays and visual art works. With a buddy class we are still developing dance routines and songs to

showcase our ideas of Kiwiana.Extra curricular There are always lots of opportunities for children to be involved in the wider

life of the school. Recently, the winter sports codes have ended; most of our children played at leastone sport, and several played more than one. There has been a crosscountry run, a miniball

tournament and a netball tournament. Our children also tried their maths skills in an OMAthaloncompetition. We are now looking forward to a Current Events quiz next month.
