Creating a New Project

Open Atoll

Click File\GSM GPRS EGPRS then OK Save the Project.

Click on Tools/

Options

Select the

Coordinatesystem in the

Projections

and Display

Propagation Model

Select the propagation

Model in the Explorer

window. In the Pop down

menu select the type of

propagation model to beused and double click it to

get the property window.

Change the values of K1,

K2 etc and clutter lossesto get the propagation

model

Import the digital maps

File

Import

Browse the Map folder Select the Clutter and import clutter data

Select the Heights and import Terrain

data Select the Vectors and import Vector data

In Explorer window

Select and Right click the Clutter

classes and Select Centre in the

Map to view the Map

Double click the clutter classes

and change the colors of differentclutter classes for easy

identification

Select each vector ,

Right click it andselect the color and

select the style for

easy identification of

each vector

Importing the Antennas

Import all the Antenna

models used in the

field by importing

individually eachAntenna file supplied

by the Manufacturer

Creating a Site Template

In the Template POP Downmenu select the requiredTemplate and select theManage template then StationTemplate Properties window

will appear. Select theproperties then Propertieswindow will appear. Changethe properties in the window asper the model of the site. ClickOK for creating Template.

Select the number of templatesas required.

Creating Sites and Cells (Transmitters)

Select the Site Iconand click it in the Mapwindow for crating thesite. Double click thesite and enter theLatitude andLongitudes of the site.Enter the site name.

The site will bemoved to the requiredlocation.

Select the Transmitter/Cell and double click it.Cell property dialog boxwill appear. Click thedifferent tabs available

in the box and changesmay be made bychanging the requiredvalues. For changingthe height, azimuth, tilt,

Power, Propagationmodel, calculationradius, BCCH, TCHFreq, BSIC and more ofsector may be changedby modifying.

Double click on thesites in explorerwindow to get siteslist. The content canbe copied and pastedinto EXCLE sheet.The sites can also becreated by copying

the site data in thesame format fromEXCEL sheet.

Similarly double click on

the Transmitters in

explorer window to get

Transmitter list. The

content can be copiedand pasted into EXCLE

sheet. The Transmitters

can also be created by

copying the Transmittersdata in the same format

from EXCEL sheet.

Coverage predictions

For creating the Coveragepredictions, right click thepredictions. Study type box willappear. Click on Coverage bysignal level and change the

intervals of the coveragelevels. Change the colors foreasy indications. SimilarlyClick on Coverage byTransmitter. Change the colorsfor easy indications. Click on

Coverage by C/I level andchange the intervals of thelevels for Interference levels.Change the colors for easyindications.

C/I level.
