Classes are 50 minutes in length, unless otherwise noted. Classes are restricted to the age ranges listed unless participant provides the class instructor with a physician’s note. The Kroc Center reserves the right to restrict class sizes. Classes are offered on a first-come, basis only. To reduce the risk of injury and prevent class disruptions, no admittance will be allowed ten minutes after the class is scheduled to begin. Classes listed in the Fitness and Aquatics Program Schedule and are subject to change without notice. There is only one rule- Don’t stop jamming!welcome.

ZUMBA ®Ages 16 and overThe Zumba® program fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves, resulting in a one-of-a-kind fitness program. Routines feature interval training sessions in which fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt, while burning fat. Achieve long-term benefits while experiencing an absolute blast in this exciting calorie-burning, body-energizing, awe-inspiring workout meant to engage and captivate for life! KROC FIT KIDSAges 5 – 8 An exciting and energizing class for kids that will keep them moving without even realizing it’s exercise! The class features elements of gymnastics, tumbling, calisthenics, and traditional exercise movement, all taught with youth in mind.

KROC TEEN STRENGTH Ages 14-18Kroc Teen Strength is a weight training class geared towards teens. This one hour class will focus on selectorized machines, free weights and cable machines giving teens the opportunity to build strength and muscular endurance. (If under 16 Teens must first complete the teen fitness orientation to participate)

SILVER SNEAKERS I – MUSCULAR STRENGTH & RANGE OF MOVEMENTFor Mature Active AdultsHave fun and move to music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of motion, and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance; a chair is used for seated and/or standing support. A medical release may be required for those with existing medical conditions.

SILVER SNEAKERS II – CARDIO CIRCUITFor Mature Active AdultsCombine fun and fitness to increase cardiovascular and muscular endurance and power with a standing circuit workout. Upper body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball is alternated with non-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is offered for support, stretching, and relaxation exercises. A medical release may be required for those with existing medical conditions.

SILVER SNEAKERS YOGA STRETCHFor Mature Active AdultsTaught from seated and standing positions. Participants learn a variety of safe and effective options designed to increase flexibility and balance to improve well being. ZUMBA ® GOLD For Mature Active Adults This program was designed for the older active adult, a person who hasn’t been exercising in a long time or individuals who may be limited physically.The biggest difference between Zumba gold and Zumba basic is that Zumba gold is done at a much lower intensity. It’s just as much fun just not as fast! Zumba Gold utilizes the same great Latin styles of music and dance as used in Zumba basic program.

AM YOGAAges 16 and overAll of the things expected from a great yoga class, offered at a time to relax and energize participants for the day ahead.

GENTLE YOGAAges 16 and overA mat-based yoga class with postures designed to Improve balance, flexibility, muscle tone, and range of motion. More challenging than chair-based yoga, but less challenging than traditional yoga.

SUNRISE YOGAAges 16 and overGreet the sun with a yoga practice that combines gentle warm-ups and a variety of seated, standing, reclining, and balance yoga poses with breath awareness. The class is designed to awaken all the systems of the body and to establish a positive outlook to carry on through the day. A Kroc Center original.

POWER YOGA Ages 16 and overA fast-paced, high-energy yoga routine with dynamic, flowing sequences of postures designed to build strength at the edge of flexibility. Expect a challenging and athletic class with rhythmic music and a variety of routines.

ABSOLUTE ABS!Ages 16 and overWork your core like never before. In this session your abs and back get a hard-core workout with stabilizing movements and strength training.

BODY BASICSAges 16 and overThis class starts with the basics of total body strength and development, preparing you for your maximum fitness potential! Explore new ways to improve your body using dynamic and explosive movement.

BODY SCULPTINGAges 16 and overCircuit Training workout utilizing resistance training, class cardio exercises, Pilates and isometrics to sculpt and define specific body parts. This class is medium to fast paced.

KROC FIT JAM Ages 16 and overKrocFit-Jam takes two fun classes BootCamp and One-Fit Jam and combines them into one! Get the strength of Boot Camp and the Cardio of One Fit Jam in to one awesome workout! TRANSFORMATION Ages 16 and over Transformation combines free weights, bars, bands and fun! In this class we will tract your body fat percentage in order to show you your body’s Transformation!

BURN OUT!Ages 16 and overLooking for an extra kick? Burn Out! is a full body workout combining resistance training with dumbbells and resistance bands, and cardiovascular endurance drills. A core and ab workout that shapes and sculpts the body unlike anything else.

FITNESSLIFE OPTIONSFITNESS CENTER ETIQUETTE

The following Kroc Policies are in place to keep all of our members and guests safe. Access to the fitness center is restricted to guests 16 years of age or older (id required), unless enrolled in a fitness center class or completion of the Teen Fitness Orientation

Teen members ages 14 & 15 may access the fitness center after completing a 1-hour teen fitness orientation. Tuesday at 6:00pm, $15/sign up at Gym Front Desk.

Members and guests are asked to carry identification and membership cards or Day Passes at all times.

Towels are required for every person working out in the Fitness Center. Towels may be purchased at the Gymnasium Guest Service Desk for $4 (subject to availability). There is a 20-minute maximum usage time per machine during peak use periods. Classes are subject to cancellation due to low enrollment. Appropriate exercise attire required (workout clothing and closed-toe athletic shoes). Shirt and shoes are required at all times in the Fitness Center. DAY PASS

LIFE OPTIONSBODY COMPOSITION

A fitness professional can help determine body composition – the percentage of lean muscle mass versus body fat. This information is helpful in developing of a personal fitness program and assists in setting attainable fitness goals. Body Compositions are done by appointment only. Please call 619.269.1464 or see the Gymnasium Guest Service Desk for more details.Fee: $5 per body composition

LIFE OPTIONSPERSONAL TRAINING

At extremely competitive rates, A Certified Personal Trainer creates a specialized fitness program that focuses on specific needs and goals through one-on-one attention. Personal Trainers keep participants motivated to safely attain results! Call 619.269.1464 for a referral to a Personal Trainer.

LIFE OPTIONSFITNESS FUNDAMENTALS

New memberships include our two-step fitness orientation series to ensure every member can reach their fitness potential. Enjoy two complimentary workouts with our knowledgeable fitness staff. Learn how to use our machines and free weights, the benefits of strength training in a classic circuit format, as well as the full range-of-motion workout achieved with free weights. Each session lasts approximately one hour and will take you through a total body strength workout. Sign up at the Guest Service Desk in the Fitness Center. Using toys and games, children learn basic water safety skills while gaining confidence in the water. Skills learned include putting face in the water, blowing bubbles through mouth and nose, front and back floating, kicking and jumping into the pool to the instructor. No parents allowed in lessons.

LEVEL 1 – INTRODUCTION TO WATER SKILLSAges 5 and overIntroduce beginning swimmers to the water in a fun setting. LEVEL 3 – STROKE DEVELOPMENTAges 5 and overIncrease swimming skill competency performing front and back crawl while practicing safety and rescue skills. Learn side breathing, dolphin kick, diving from side of pool, treading water and self-rescue skills.

LEVEL 4 – STROKE IMPROVEMENTAges 5 and overDevelop confidence, competency and strength in front and back crawl. Strokes learned include elementary backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke and butterfly. Skills learned include deep water bobbing, diving from side of pool in stride and standing positions, turns at the wall, and familiarity with CPR.

LEVEL 5 – STROKE REFINEMENTAges 6 and olderRefinement of front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke and sidestroke. Alternate breathing, swimming underwater, butterfly, open turns on front and back, diving safety and beginning diving progression from springboard.

LEVEL 6 – SWIMMING PROFICIENCYAges 6 and olderDevelop maximum efficiency and endurance for strokes. Introduce surface dives and flip turns. Approach and hurdle on diving board, tuck and pike surface dives, alternative kicks for treading water, throwing rescues, turning spinal victim face up and approach stroke.

ARTHRITIS FOUNDATION AQUATIC EXERCISEAges 16 and overClasses include a series of pool activities led by certified Arthritis Foundation instructors. Participants are guided through a selection of 85 movements designed by exercise specialists, geared to reduce the pain and stiffness associated with arthritis. With the aid of water’s buoyancy and resistance, participants improve flexibility, strength and range of motion. Swimming skills are not required.Location: Therapy Pool

WATER WALKINGAges 16 and overA low impact water exercise class with the goal of walking a mile in each class, followed by a cool down of wall stretches. Elevate your heart rate in our warm water recreation pool with a guided, fun and challenging workout that satisfies the recommendation of 10,000 daily steps. Movements will address the frontal and supine planes and levers of the body.

LEARN TO SWIM @ THE KROC! GROUP SWIM LESSONS

The Kroc Center offers group lessons for: parents with infants and toddlers; youth lessons for children ages three to 16; adult lessons for ages 16 and over; and private lessons for all ages. We follow the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program using certified Red Cross instructors. Children in group lessons are evaluated on the first day to ensure enrollment in proper level. We reserve the right to change the schedule and/or cancel lessons as needed. All week day session include 8 classes, while Saturday include 4.

ROCKWALL ETIQUETTEAll climbers must have a complete Kroc Center waiver on file. Check – in at the Gym guest services desk before each session and present your receipt to the rock wall associate. Harnesses and helmets are required and supplied at the rock wall (helmets worn must be designated rock climbing helmets).

A youth basketball league designed to help improve children’s sports skills while emphasizing fun, sportsmanship, teamwork, and the development of self-esteem. Offering recreational play to all skill levels — and everybody plays! All players must attend the first day of practice for skill assessment in order to be placed on a team. Teams practice on Monday & Friday nights, with league play on Saturdays. Session fee includes jersey, team picture, awards.
