Prevention of Ragging Action against ragging: Maharashtra Prohibition of Ragging Act 1999 which is in effect from 15th May 1999 has the following provisions for Action against Ragging.

a) Ragging within or outside of any educational institution is prohibited.

b) Whosoever directly or indirectly commits, participates in, abets, or propagates ragging within or outside any educational institution shall, on conviction, be punished with imprisonment for a term up to 2 years and / or penalty which may extend to ten thousand rupees.

c) Any student convicted of an offence of ragging shall be dismissed from the educational institution and such students shall not be admitted in any other educational institution for a period of five years from the date of order of such dismissal.

d) Whenever any student or, as the case may be, the parent or guardian or a teacher of an educational institution complains, in writing, of ragging to the head of the educational institution, the head of the education institution shall, without prejudice to the foregoing provisions, within seven days of the receipt of the complaint, enquire into the matter mentioned in the complaint and if, prima facie, it is found true, suspend the student who is accused of the offence, and shall, immediately forward the complaint to the police station having jurisdiction over the area in which the educational institution is situated, for further action. Where, on enquiry by the head of the educational institution, it is found that there is no substance, prima facie, in the complaint received, he/she shall intimate the fact, in writing, to the complainant. The decision of the head of the educational institution shall be final.

e) If the head of the educational institution fails or neglects to act in the manner specified in section “d” above when a complaint of ragging is made, such person shall be deemed to have abetted the offence and on conviction, be punished as provided for in section “b”

Every student shall fill the Proforma-A and submit along with other documents at the time of Admission.

Ragging in institute premises is strictly prohibited. If any Student is found indulged in ragging, he will be liable for punishment and action as per the provision of “Maharashtra Prohibition of Ragging Act No. XXXIII” of 1999 enacted by Goverment of Maharashtra and the recent directive of Supreme Court of India.

Institute Prole

National Centre for Rural Development (NCRD), a

registered public charitable trust, founded in 1991

celebrated its silver jubilee in the year 2015. In the

year 2003-04, NCRD widened its educational

activities and established the NCRD's Institute of

Pharmacy. The institute is bringing qualitative

excellence in terms of results, infrastructural

facilities, well-equipped laboratories, student's

amenities, well-organized library, and computer

centre with internet access of 16 Mbps bandwidth,

language laboratory & competent faculty.

The institute is located in Nerul which is the biggest

residential node of Navi Mumbai. It is situated in a

serene and peaceful environment and is easily

accessible by local train from the Seawoods station

on the harbour line between CST- Panvel and by road

from the National Highway-4 or the Palm Beach road

providing easy connectivity with all areas of

Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane & Raigad.

The institute provides spacious classrooms equipped with

modern audiovisual teaching aids. It also facilitates

maximum interaction between faculty and students.

The institute has well-developed laboratories so that

students can understand effectively what they have learnt in

the classrooms.

The institute has spacious computerized library with

National and International multiple editions with an air-

conditioned reading room. It also subscribes National &

International journals, periodicals and magazines to keep

the students abreast with recent development in eld of

pharmacy. The library comprises more than 3000 books,

journals such as IJPS, Pharma Processing, Pharma

Technology, Indian Journal of Experimental Biology,

Pharma Bio World, Indian Journal of Chemistry, etc.

dynamic executives from the pharmaceutical industries are

The computer centre is equipped with computer terminals

of advanced hardware capabilities laced with advanced

software programs and twenty four hours internet access

with 16 Mbps bandwidth. The Language Laboratory set up

in the institute helps to develop and rene English language

skills of our students. It offers language module in French

also.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Passed HSC Science (Std.XII) or equivalent with

subjects Engl ish, Physics , Chemistry and

Mathematics / Biology.

Admissions are made through Centralized Admission

Process (CAP) by Admission Regulating Authority

and Directorate of Technical Education on the basis of

merit. Further details are available on website of

Directorate of Technical Education (DTE),

Maharashtra www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in.

The duration of the course shall be for 2 academic

years with each academic year spread over a period of

not less than 180 working days in addition to 500

hours practical training spread over a period of not

less than 3 months.

Railway concession for local train can be availed by students. Students aged below 25 years can avail railway and

state transport concession for going to their hometown and coming back during the vacation period. The students

should write their hometown address in the application form for availing this concession.

The institute grants freeship to admitted students if H.S.C. percentage is more than 90% and it is continued in

second year if student secures 80% marks in rst year Examination. Awards worth rupees 10,000 is given to the

students excelling in academics with more than 80% marks in board examinations.

Educational visits

The institute conducts educational visits for the

students every year. The students are exposed to all

the departments of the industry and hospital.

Industrial visits to 'Elder Pharmaceuticals Ltd' and

'Elder Projects Ltd.' and hospital visits to 'Mahatma

Gandhi Mission (MGM) Hospital', Dr. D. Y. Patil

Hospital' and 'Terna Sahyadri Hospital' have been

organised for the students. Industrial tours to Goa,

Jaipur and Chandigarh and Manali have been

organised where students visited industries like Polo

Pharmaceuticals, EG Pharmaceuticals, Unichem Ltd,

Elcon Ltd, etc.

‘A healthy body is home for a healthy mind.' In keeping with

this motto, NCRD successfully has been organizing

Sterling Minithon 'Run for Fun' with an initiative towards

developing a tter and healthier generation since last three

years.

the institute works closely with various professional bodies

like IPA, MSPC, etc. The institute has hosted the Inaugural/

Valedictory function of National Pharmacy week since last
