AS was a good sampler of experiencing IMovie and Photoshop due to the

intermediate level of experience with these programmes. At AS we had to create a

short film opening sequence. I was able to develop my skills by researching other films

I had an interest in and then furthering my knowledge by viewing films of the same

genre I wanted to use for my film opening sequence. I had also created storyboards to

officially have an idea of what I wanted to produce. All the research and final results of

my work were posted onto a blog which was easily accessed by myself, other students

and media teachers. I felt this blog made my work clear and straightforwardly

presented. The blog had allowed me to upload pictures, storyboards, to also type my

work on there and finally to add my preliminary task and my film opening sequence;

the blog held my work all together rather then different document pages or

PowerPoint slides, overall I felt this was efficient and less time consuming.

A2 was successful when using IMovie and Photoshop because I felt I was at an

advanced level for using these programmed. A2 we had to create a music video and

use the generic conventions to the best of our abilities and I felt that IMovie and

Photoshop had helped me develop and use my skills to fulfil the representation,

audience, institutions, language, Ideology, narrative and genre. I also had to create a

story board in order to plan the narrative and the performance side to my music video.

We had used a website called “Wix” we were able to put our posts and other tasks we

had to do in order to complete our music video tasks. I felt this was useful and very

easy to use and efficient. It wasn't time consuming at all when it came to searching

specific sections of my work because everything had buttons to click on which would

navigate you straight to my work. All my work was then easy to approach my work,

other students and media teachers can easily access it. I felt this website was a new

way to present my work in a creative professional manor. The Wix website enabled me

to upload pictures, videos, storyboards, planning of my digipack and advert and

animations. It also allowed me to upload presentations from other websites such as

Prezzi and slide share.
