INTRODUZIONEFOREWORDS

Da sempre il Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale ha posto particolare attenzione alla valorizzazione delle Sedi diplomatiche italiane all’estero con collezioni d’arte finalizzate a rappresentare l’alta tradizione artistica e culturale del nostro Paese. Lo stesso Ministero ormai da quasi vent’anni accoglie opere di altissimo pregio di artisti italiani contemporanei, compresi quelli appartenenti alle nuove generazioni, con una costante crescita di consensi, anche grazie al comodato d’uso gratuito che garantisce un continuo aggiornamento delle acquisizioni, flessibilità e corretta calibratura delle risorse finanziarie. Accolgo quindi con viva soddisfazione la pubblicazione del catalogo della collezione di opere d’arte e oggetti di design in mostra presso la Residenza dell’Ambasciatore d’Italia in Israele, che fanno da cornice alle intense attività di rappresentanza della Sede. Ideale prosecuzione della “Collezione Farnesina”, questa raccolta ne riproduce la formula e lo spirito, includendo pezzi coerenti

The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has always dedicated particular attention to the enhancement of the Italian diplomatic missions with art collections aimed at representing the high artistic and cultural traditions of our Country.The Ministry itself has been hosting for almost 20 years artworks of the highest quality from contemporary Italian artists, including those belonging to the new generations, with a steady growth of support, also thanks to loan schemes that guarantee continuous updating of the collection, while ensuring flexibility and correct calibration of financial resources. Therefore, I warmly welcome the publication of the catalog of the collection of artworks and design objects displayed in the Residence of the Ambassador of Italy to Israel, which is a perfect framework for the intense activities of representation of the Embassy. As an ideal continuation of the “Farnesina Collection”, this exhibition reproduces its formula and spirit, through the inclusion of pieces coherent with the Israeli

context; a country rich in history and devoted to innovation. Art and Italy are synonymous: so it was yesterday, so it is today and it will be tomorrow. Creare un concentrato di bellezza italiana nel cuore di Israele: è questo il senso del progetto che ho fortemente voluto e l’obiettivo che ha guidato il lavoro di collezione delle opere d’arte contemporanea e arredi di design italiano esposti nella Residenza dell’Ambasciatore d’Italia in Israele. Si tratta di un progetto mirato non solo a fare della stupenda villa di Ramat Gan la cornice ideale dei numerosi incontri istituzionali e di rappresentanza che permeano l’intensa attività dell’Ambasciata d’Italia in Israele, ma anche a renderla una vera e propria vetrina in grado di trasmettere il dinamismo e la ricchezza delle relazioni fra Italia e Israele a chiunque varchi la soglia di Rehov Alonim 6. Nulla più dell’arte e della creatività riesce a comunicare compiutamente quella sintesi d’ingegno e bellezza che costituisce il tratto distintivo del genio italiano. E in un Paese come Israele, vibrante e proiettato a passi da gigante verso il futuro, la scelta delle opere non poteva che coinvolgere artisti e designer italiani contemporanei, alcuni profondamente legati, nell’ispirazione o nelle radici, alla

An extract of Italian beauty in the heart of Israel: this is the significance of the project that I envisioned and the aspiration behind the collection of Italian contemporary art and design furniture exhibited in the Residence of the Ambassador of Italy in Israel. This is a project aimed not only at making the wonderful villa of Ramat Gan the ideal setting for the numerous institutional and representative meetings which are an integral part of the intense activity of the Italian Embassy in Israel, but also to make it a real showroom capable of conveying the dynamism and richness of the relations between Italy and Israel to anyone who crosses the threshold of Rehov Alonim 6. Nothing more than art and creativity can fully communicate that synthesis of talent and beauty that constitutes the distinctive trait of the Italian genius. And in a country like Israel, vibrant and projected in giant steps towards the future, the choice of the artworks could only involve contemporary Italian artists and designers, some deeply linked, in inspiration or in roots, to Jewish culture, others

chosen for the extraordinary energy that shines from their creations, that today are present in some of the most prestigious international exhibitions. Thus, by its very nature, this collection should not be static, because the landscape of connections it aims to describe and suggest is dynamic and in fieri in its nature. This catalog is a snapshot of what to me is a particularly happy moment, in which I have the honor and the pleasure to serve Italy as the Ambassador to Israel.

Sono trascorsi più di due anni dal mio primo incontro con l’Ambasciatore d’Italia in Israele, Gianluigi Benedetti. In quell’occasione l’Ambasciatore mi manifestò il suo desiderio di arricchire la Residenza di Ramat Gan con opere d’arte contemporanea, proponendomi di collaborare alla realizzazione di questo progetto. Ho accolto con gioia ed entusiasmo la sua proposta. Da sempre sono, infatti, un convinto sostenitore del prezioso ruolo che l’arte può avere nel rapporto tra popoli con tradizioni diverse. Ringrazio tutti gli artisti per la loro disponibilità e la loro generosità,fondamentali per dare vita a una collezione d’arte e design che è diventata uno dei tratti distintivi della Residenza dell’Ambasciatore d’Italia a Tel Aviv. Nel corso del tempo nuove opere di artisti italiani e israeliani sono state aggiunte al nucleo iniziale e un ulteriore rilevante contributo al progetto è stato assicurato dall’inserimento nella casa di arredi di design italiano. Oggi gli ospiti della Residenza possono ammirare opere di importanti artisti che si sono espressi con tecniche diverse, dalla pittura alla scultura, dalla fotografia al disegno.

More than two years have passed since my first meeting with the Italian Ambassador to Israel, Gianluigi Benedetti. On that occasion, the Ambassador expressed his desire to create in the Residence in Ramat Gan a collection of contemporary artworks, proposing me to collaborate in the realization of this project. I welcomed his proposal with joy and enthusiasm as I have always been a strong supporter of the precious role that art can play in the relationship among peoples with different traditions. I thank all the artists for their availability and generosity, essential ingredients for the curation of the art and design collection that has become one of the distinguishing features of the Residence of the Ambassador of Italy in Tel Aviv. Over time, new works by Italian and Israeli artists have been added to the initial core and an additional relevant contribution to the project was assured with the inclusion in the house of Italian design furniture. Today the guests of the Residence may admire works by important artists who

have expressed themselves with different techniques, from painting to sculpture, from photography to drawing. I sincerely hope that this initiative will be an example for all of how art is life and memory.

La Residenza è una delle storiche dimore della zona nord-occidentale di Ramat Gan, alle porte di Tel Aviv. Negli anni Venti la zona era coltivata ad aranceti e bananeti e la proprietà apparteneva a Isaac Leib Goldberg, un intellettuale di origine polacca che con Teodoro Herzel partecipò al Congresso Sionista di Basilea nel 1897. Nel 1932, in memoria del figlio Biniamin, ucciso durante le Rivolte Arabe del 1929, Goldberg decise di destinare parte della proprietà alla costruzione di un quartiere residenziale. Nacque così il quartiere di Tel Biniamin (“la Collina di Biniamin”). Già nella fase di progettazione affidata a Frederick Kisch, l’intento di Golberg - amico di intellettuali e poeti come Hayim Nachman Bialik, Yaakov Fichman e Asher Zvi Hirsch Ginsberg (meglio noto come Ahad HaHam), nonché tra i fondatori del quotidiano Haaretz e del Teatro Habima di Tel Aviv - era di creare un quartiere di artisti e pensatori, con i più alti standard architettonici dell’epoca,

The Residence is one of the historic houses in the Northwestern area of Ramat Gan, on the outskirts of Tel Aviv. In the 1920s the area was planted with orange and banana trees and the estate belonged to Isaac Leib Goldberg, an intellectual of Polish origin who in 1897 participated with Theodor Herzl in the Zionist Congress in Basel. In 1932, in memory of his son Biniamin, who was killed during the 1929 Arab Revolts, Goldberg decided to allocate part of the property to the construction of a residential neighborhood: the district of Tel Biniamin (“the Hill of Biniamin”) was born. Frederick Kisch was the architect chosen for the project. Since the beginning, the intent of Golberg – who was a friend of intellectuals and poets such as Hayim Nachman Bialik, Yaakov Fichman and Asher Zvi Hirsch Ginsberg (better known as Ahad HaHam) as well as one of the founders of the newspaper Haaretz and the Theater Habima of Tel Aviv - was to create a neighborhood of artists

Negli Anni Cinquanta, abitarono nel quartiere figure illustri come Moshe Sharet, Ministro degli Esteri di Israele e Primo Ministro dopo David Ben Gurion, e il primo Ambasciatore statunitense in Israele, James MacDonald. Da allora il quartiere è diventato la sede di varie residenze diplomatiche tra cui quella dell’Ambasciatore d’Italia, prima ubicata presso la villa Saslawsky, progettata dall’architetto

that of the Ambassador of Italy, initially located in the Saslawsky villa, designed by the architect Joseph Neufeld, and, since the 1980s, in the villa at 6 Rehov Alonim. Today, while all around the neighborhood skyscrapers rise, Tel Biniamin represents a stable point, a crossroads between past, present and future. Here, the lives of great characters, who with their works and their thoughts have contributed to giving shape to the modern state of Israel and its culture, have intertwined.

Paolo Amico (San Cataldo, 1987) potrebbe essere definito “il biro-artista”. I suoi quadri, che ritraggono soprattutto paesaggi urbani notturni, vengono, infatti, realizzati su carta unicamente per mezzo di penne a sfera. Ha vinto alcuni concorsi d’arte tra cui il Premio Meneghetti 2018 ed ha esposto in mostre personali e collettive in Italia e all’estero.

Paolo Amico (San Cataldo, 1987) could be called “the biro-artist”. His paintings, which portray above all nocturnal urban landscapes, are, in fact, made on paper solely by means of ballpoint pens. He has won several art competitions including the Meneghetti 2018 Award and has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad.

Zavi Apfelbaum è nata nel 1968 negli Stati Uniti, dove ha cominciato i suoi studi in arti visive, ottenendo la laurea in Arti Visive e Psicologia dalla Columbia University. Nel 1990 si trasferisce in Israele, dove continua la sua educazione artistica. Sebbene si esprima con vari mezzi artistici quali la fotografia, gli acquarelli e il carboncino, il suo principale mezzo di espressione è la pittura ad olio e la sua ispirazione viene in particolare dai paesaggi pastorali delle colline della Giudea. Attraverso la pittura ad olio l’artista dà forma alla sua visione che si evolve sulla tela in una fusione di realtà, impressioni ed emozioni. Oltre ad essere un’artista, Apfelbaum lavora presso il Ministero degli Affari Esteri israeliano.

Zavi Apfelbaum was born in 1968 in the US, where she began her studies in visual arts, later earning a degree in Visual Art and Psichology at Columbia University. In 1990 she moved to Israel and continued her art education. While she makes extensive use of photography, watercolor and charcoal as part of her artistic process, her primary medium of expression is oil paint and she draws inspiration from the pastoral views of the Judean Hills. Through this medium she sculpts her vision as it evolves on the canvas in a melding of reality, impressions and emotion. Alongside her artistic career Apfelbaum works at the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Daniele Basso ha iniziato la sua carriera nel mondo della moda come collaboratore di Gianni Versace, lavorando successivamente nel campo della comunicazione presso lo studio Publicis e come designer per Versace Group, Ermenegildo Zegna e FIAT. Dal 2010 si dedica all’attività artistica come scultore, esponendo su importanti palcoscenici quali la Biannale di Venezia, in mostre temporanee in tutto il mondo e anche in mostre permanenti.

Daniele Basso began his career in the fashion world as a collaborator of Gianni Versace, later working in the field of communication at the Publicis studio and as a designer for Versace Group, Ermenegildo Zegna and FIAT. Since 2010 he has dedicated himself to the artistic activity as a sculptor, exhibiting on important stages such as the Biannale in Venice, in temporary exhibitions all over the world and also in permanent exhibitions.

Bruna Biamino è nata a Torino, dove vive e lavora. Alunna di Natan Lyons, svolge l’attività di fotografo professionista nel campo dell’architettura e della fotografia industriale. Ha insegnato all’Istituto Europeo di Design e alla Scuola Holden. Alcune delle sue fotografie sono esposte in Musei e Fondazioni in Europa e negli Stati Uniti, fra cui la Fondazione Italiana per la Fotografia di Torino, l’Archivio dello Spazio di Milano, il Museé de l’Elysée di Losanna, la Polaroid Foundation, a Cambridge, Massachussets, la Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Torino, il MAXXI di Roma.

Bruna Biamino was born in Turin, where she lives and works. Alunna by Natan Lyons, she works as a professional photographer in the field of architecture and industrial photography. She taught at the European Design Institute and at the Holden School. Some of her photographs are exhibited in Museums and Foundations in Europe and the United States, including the Italian Foundation for Photography in Turin, the Space Archive in Milan, the Museé de l’Elysée in Lausanne, the Polaroid Foundation, in Cambridge, Massachussets, the Civic Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art of Turin, the MAXXI in Rome.

Nicola Bolaffi (1975), nasce e lavora a Torino. Artista poliedrico, concentra la sua ricerca artistica nelle forme geometriche e nei colori forti, quasi violenti. Le linee sono nette, i materiali che conferiscono spessore, il gioco di luci e ombre che si crea sulle tele, sono la chiave dell’originalità di questo artista che ha già esposto sia in mostre collettive che personali e che recentemente ha anche debuttato come scrittore.

Nicola Bolaffi (1975), was born in Turin, where he works. A versatile artist, he concentrates his artistic research on geometric shapes and strong, almost violent colors. The lines are clear, the materials that give thickness, the play of light and shadow that is created on the canvases, are the key to the originality of this artist who has already exhibited both in collective and personal exhibitions, who has also recently debuted as a writer.

Carla Chiusano nasce nel 1964 a Torino e trascorre molti anni a Londra, Rio de Janeiro, Roma e Ginevra. Attualmente risiede e lavora a Milano. Inizia a dipingere nel 2007 privilegiando l’astrattismo, per poi scoprire l’espressività animale, quasi un alter-ego dell’essere umano. Utilizza prevalentemente la pittura ad olio, tecnica che predilige per lavorare sulle strategie cromatiche in infinite varianti. Tra le ultime imprese artistiche le personali “High Society” esposta a Torino e Milano e “Winter” esposta a Milano e Forte dei Marmi. Il regista Mimmo Calopresti le ha dedicato il docu-film “Conversazioni sull’arte di Carla”.

Carla Chiusano was born in 1964 in Turin and spent many years abroad, in London, Rio de Janeiro, Rome and Geneve. She currently lives and works in Milan. She started painting in 2007. At the beginning, her painting was mainly abstract. She then discovered animal expressiveness, where animals are almost alter-egos of human beings. She favors the oil painting technique, as it allows her to work on chromatic strategies in endless variations. Among her last solo exhibitions, it is worth mentioning “High Society”, displayed in Turin and Milan; and “Winter” displayed in Milan and Forte dei Marmi. Carla Chiusano has been featured in Mimmo Calopresti’s docu-film “Conversazioni sull’arte di Carla”.

Riccardo Cordero (Alba, 1942) è uno scultore italiano. Ha frequentato a Torino il liceo artistico e l’Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti, dove si è diplomato nel 1965 e dove - dal 1990 al 2002 - è stato titolare della Scuola di Scultura. Nel 2006 la Regione Piemonte gli ha dedicato una grande mostra personale che verrà replicata in varie sedi Istituzionali dell’America Latina. Alcune delle sue opere sono state allestite in spazi pubblici, come la Nuova Corte d’Appello di Roma per cui realizza nel 2007 La Libellula e nel 2009 Comando di Gruppo, in bronzo, per la Nuova sede dell’Arma dei Carabinieri ad Aosta.

Riccardo Cordero (Alba, 1942) is an Italian sculptor. He attended the art school in Turin and the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts, where he graduated in 1965 and where - from 1990 to 2002 - he was the holder of the Sculpture School. In 2006, the Piedmont Region dedicated a large personal exhibition to him that will be replicated in various Institutional offices in Latin America. Some of his works have been set up in public spaces, such as the New Court of Appeal of Rome for which he created La Libellula in 2007 and in 2009 Group Command, in bronze, for the New headquarters of the Carabinieri in Aosta.

Nato a Tunisi nel 1952, nel 1963 dovette emigrare in Europa a causa dei violenti tumulti generati dalla crisi di Biserta. Dopo un difficile periodo passato in un campo profughi nei pressi di Napoli, si stabilì a Roma. La formazione artistica di de Canino si è svolta tra la Francia, dove venne a contatto con esponenti del movimento surrealista, e l’Italia, dove strinse amicizia con artisti come de Chirico e Guttuso. La sua arte spazia tra diverse forme espressive, dalla pittura alla scultura, passando per la poesia e le performance. Nel 2011, alla presenza del Presidente delle Repubblica Giorgio Napolitano, due sue tele sono state inserite nel Museo del Memoriale delle Fosse Ardeatine.

Born in Tunis in 1952, in 1963 he had to emigrate to Europe, due to the violent riots generated by the Biserta crisis. After a difficult period spent in a refugee camp near Naples, he settled in Rome. De Canino’s artistic training took place between France, where he came into contact with members of the Surrealist movement, and Italy, where he became friends with artists such as de Chirico and Guttuso. Giorgio di Palma è nato a Grottaglie (TA) nel 1981. È laureato in Archeologia e ha passato molti anni all’estero come volontario. Nel 2010 è tornato a Grottaglie dove ha aperto il suo studio di ceramica. La mancanza di una formazione artistica classica può essere considerata un vantaggio che gli ha permesso di sviluppare uno stile unico ed originale: le sue ceramiche di cui non c’era bisogno sono riproduzioni in dimensioni reali di oggetti di uso quotidiano, inutili, ma eterni e ricchi di significato estetico e concettuale. Nel 2017 l’International Ceramic Magazine Editors Association l’ha premiato con il Fule Prize come miglior ceramista emergente nel contesto di un concorso mondiale.

Giorgio di Palma was born in Grottaglie in 1981. He graduated in Archeology and spent many years abroad as a volunteer. He started his ceramics studio in 2010. His lack of a formal artistic education is maybe the source of his unique and original style: his “ceramics you won’t need” are in-scale reproductions of daily-use objects which are useless but eternal and rich in aesthetic and conceptual significance. Romana con radici napoletane e genovesi, ha studiato storia dell’arte moderna, oltre a filosofia e storia delle religioni, concentrandosi in particolare su cattolicesimo ed ebraismo i cui simboli tornano frequentemente nelle sue opere. Ama il Rinascimento e Paolo Veronese, ma si avvicina alla scienza, alla fisica e astrofisica alla ricerca di risposte emotive con cui confrontarsi con un approccio antropologico. Le sue opere nascono da questo mix di studi e dal concetto italiano di bellezza. Ha esposto in diverse collettive e personali in Italia e all’estero, incluso Israele.

Born in Rome with Neapolitan and Genoese roots, she studied modern art history, as well as philosophy and history of religions, focusing in particular on Catholicism and Judaism, whose symbols frequently return in her works. She loves the Renaissance and Paolo Veronese, but approaches science, physics and astrophysics in search of emotional responses with which confronting herself with an anthropological approach. In her works, she took inspiration from this mix of studies and from the Italian concept of beauty. She has exhibited in various collective and personal exhibitions in Italy and abroad, including in Israel.

Lello (Raffaele) Esposito (Napoli, 1957) è pittore e scultore. Formatosi autonomamente, ha intrapreso il percorso artistico sin da giovanissimo, inizialmente utilizzando materiali di fortuna e vendendo le sue creazioni sulle bancarelle di Napoli. Proprio i simboli della città natìa, da Pulcinella a San Gennaro, dal corno al Vesuvio, si pongono al centro dell’iconografia delle opere di Esposito, in cui l’artista fonde tradizione e contemporaneità.

Having trained independently, he began his artistic career at a very young age, initially using makeshift materials and selling his creations on stalls in Naples. David (Dudu) Gerstein (Gerusalemme, 1944) è un pittore e scultore israeliano. Ha iniziato come pittore figurativo e illustratore di libri per bambini e ha ricevuto il premio Israel Museum Prize per l’illustrazione. Lo stile post-pop di Gerstein è caratterizzato dai colori accesi e audaci, stesi su più strati. Dagli anni ‘70, Gerstein aspira a creare arte che parli agli addetti ai lavori, pur rimanendo accessibile all’uomo della strada. Il suo intenso uso del colore deriva dal desiderio di “copiare la natura”. Gerstein spiegò che proprio come i colori vivaci della frutta o dei fiore attirano gli insetti, così anche il suo lavoro deve attrarre l’osservatore.

David (Dudu) Gerstein (Jerusalem ,1944) is an Israeli painter and sculptor. He began as a figurative painter and illustrator of children books and was recipient of the Israel Museum Prize for illustration. Gerstein’s post-pop art style is characterized by bold colored, multilayered cutout steel. From the 1970s, Gerstein aspired to create art that spoke to the art world while remaining accessible to the man in the street. His bold use of color came from a desire to “copy nature.” Gerstein explained that just like the brightly colored fruit or flower in nature attracts insects, so, too, his work was intended to be attractive to the observer.

Margherita Grasselli (Perugia, 1970) intraprende il suo cammino da scultrice nel 2001, spaziando dalla lavorazione dell’argilla a quella della pietra, sperimentando la lavorazione delle resine e dei vari tipi di materiali che si prestano alla lavorazione scultorea manuale. Sperimenta la tecnica delle patine, usando vari tipi di colori e ossidi, non ultimi gli smalti, sua grande passione. Nel 2011 apre lo Spazio espositivo Liberarte a Roma, dove stabilisce il suo laboratorio e crea un’area espositiva che prevede l’organizzazione di mostre proprie nonché personali o collettive di giovani artisti emergenti.

Margherita Grasselli (Perugia, 1970) began her career as a sculptor in 2001, ranging from the clay processing to that of stone, experimenting the resins processing and various types of materials that lend themselves to manual sculpting. She experiments patinas techniques, using various types of colors and oxides, not least the glazes, her great passion. She learns the various molding techniques, both in plaster and in silicon, thanks to the organization of ad hoc courses in outdoor structures especially designed for these works. In 2011 Margherita opens Liberarte Exhibition Space in Rome, where she establishes her workshop and creates an exhibition area that includes the organization of personal and collective exhibitions of young emerging artists.

Enzo Isaia nasce a Pordenone nel 1941, ma vive e lavora Torino, dove ha passato la maggior parte della sua vita. Ha studiato Architettura al Politecnico di Torino. Alla fine degli Anni Sessanta ha deciso di dedicarsi completamente alla fotografia, dopo essere rimasto affascinato dai lavori di Cartier-Bresson e dai grandi reportage di riviste come Life, Look, Paris Match, Stern, Epoch. Da subito emerge nel lavoro di Isaia un marcato spirito di osservazione e di ironia. Successivamente si dedica alla fotografia pubblicitaria e industriale, concentrandosi su pezzi di design, alta moda e case automobilistiche di lusso come Ferrari e Maserati.

Enzo Isaia was born in Pordenone in 1941, but has been living and working in Turin for most of his life. He studied Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Turin. At the end of the 1960s he chose to devote himself entirely to photography, fascinated by the works of Cartier-Bresson and by the great reports of magazines such as Life, Look, Paris Match, Stern, Epoch. He immediately revealed a marked spirit of observation and nice irony. Adi Kichelmacher è nata in Israele nel 1979. Sin dall’adolescenza sviluppa un forte interesse per la pittura, ispirata soprattutto dalle opere di Gustav Klimt, ma anche dalla scrittura e dalla fotografia. Le piace sperimentare nuove tecniche, utilizzando insieme pittura e tessuti. Dopo essersi laureata in Design della Moda e dei Tessuti presso l’Istituto Shenkar di Tel Aviv, si trasferisce a Roma, dove lavora come designer di tessuti e stilista. Dal 2016 decide di dedicarsi completamente alla pittura. Le sue opere sono state esposte in mostre personali e collettive in Israele e in Italia.

Adi Kichelmacher was born in Israel in 1979. Since her youth she has developed an intense interest for painting, for which she is especially inspired by Gustav Klimt, but she also practices writing and photography. She likes to experiment new techniques, mixing painting and fabrics. Following graduating at the Shenkar College in Tel Aviv in Fashion and Textile Design, she moved to Rome, where she started working as fashion and textile designer. Antonio Meneghetti (Avezzano, 1936 – Faxinal do Soturno, 2013) è stato un filosofo, psicoterapeuta e artista italiano, tre volte vincitore del Premio Cultura della Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri italiana. L’arte riflette le scoperte di Meneghetti in campo psicologico, dove si è distinto come fondatore di una nuova disciplina: la Ontopsicologia. Parallelamente alle ricerche scientifiche, Meneghetti ha coltivato la passione per l’arte, soprattutto pittorica, ma ottenendo dimestichezza anche nella lavorazione del legno e nella scultura. Ha esposto in Italia, Sud America, Cina e Russia e anche dopo la sua scomparsa le sue opere sono state protagoniste di mostre prestigiose.

Art reflects Meneghetti’s discoveries in the psychological field, where he distinguished himself as the founder of a new discipline: Ontopsychology. Barbara Nejrotti (Torino, 1971) si esprime attraverso diverse tecniche artigianali come cucito, pittura, incisione, che spesso vengono combinate con precisione all’interno della stessa opera. Marcello Panza è un architetto e designer italiano. Nato a Napoli, dove ha anche studiato Architettura, nel 1983 fonda “Studio Minimo” per cui realizza progetti di interni e spazi pubblici. Parallelamente coltiva la passione per la grafica e il design. Nel 2001 vince il premio “Elio Galli” per un progetto di comunicazione. Come designer, i suoi oggetti vengono esposti in importanti sedi come il MoMA di San Francisco, il Centro Pompidour di Parigi e altri.

Marcello Panza is an Italian architect and designer. He was born in Naples, where he also got his degree in Architecture. In 1983 he founded “Studio Minimo”, working in planning interiors and public spaces. At the same time he cultivates a passion for graphics and design. In 2001 he was awarded the “Eliano Galli” prize for his achievements in the field of communication. Sharon Pazner (Nairobi, 1970) si è laureata in Architettura presso l’Accademia d’Arte Bezalel di Gerusalemme e presso la Ecole d’Architecture Paris La Villette e ha lavorato come architetto fino all’inizio degli Anni Duemila, quando ha deciso di dedicarsi all’arte. Ed è per questo che i richiami all’architettura nelle sue opere e installazioni sono molteplici: a partire dai materiali, che sono quelli da costruzione, in particolare il cemento, al soggetto preferito: la casa. Il grigiore e la serietà del cemento creano contrasto con i soggetti prediletti dall’artista che sono gli oggetti dell’infanzia, i giocattoli, la casa stilizzata, un contrasto capace di suscitare nell’osservatore emozioni dolci e amare al tempo stesso. Pazner vive a Tel Aviv e ha esposto in mostre personali e collettive in Europa e Israele.

Sharon Pazner (Nairobi, 1970) studied Architecture at the Bezalel Academy of Art in Jerusalem and at the Ecole d’Architecture Paris La Villette and worked as an architect until the early 2000s, when she decided to devote herself to art. The references to architecture in her works and installations are many: starting from the materials used, which are construction materials, in particular cement, to the favorite subject: the house. The greyness and the seriousness of the cement create contrast with the artist’s favorite subjects that are the items of childhood as toys, games, small houses. This contrast are able to create bitter-sweet emotions in the observer. Pazner lives in Tel Aviv and has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Europe and Israel.

John Randolph Pepper (Roma, 1958) è un fotografo, sceneggiatore, regista teatrale e cinematografico italiano. Comincia la sua carriera di fotografo già da adolescente, come apprendista di Ugo Mulas. In seguito consegue la Laurea in Storia dell’Arte presso l’Università di Princeton, per poi spostarsi a Los Angeles dove lavorerà come assistente alla regia presso l’American Film Institute. Per oltre vent’anni lavora come regista per il cinema e il teatro, senza mai lasciare il lavoro fotografico, che lo porterà a esporre in mostre personali in tutto il mondo. Il suo ultimo progetto è “Inhabited Deserts”, mostra itinerante inaugurata nel 2017 a Parigi.

John Randolph Pepper (Rome, 1958) is an Italian photographer, screenwriter, theater and cinema director. He began his career while still very young, as apprentice of the photographer Ugo Mulas. He later graduated in History of Art at the University of Princeton, then moved to Los Angeles where he worked as “Direct Fellow” at the American Film Institute. For over 20 years he worked as a director for cinema and theater, while simultaneously dedicating himself to photography. Tobia Ravà (Padova, 1959) lavora a Venezia ed espone le sue opere in Italia e nel mondo dal 1977. Oltre alla formazione artistica ottenuta nelle scuole d’arte di Venezia e Urbino, si è laureato in Semiologia dell’Arte ed è stato allievo di Umberto Eco. Negli Anni ’80 si è specializzato in iconografia ebraica. Le sue opere sono, infatti, dominate da formule di numeri e caratteri ebraici disposti secondo le regole della ghematria, che danno forma a paesaggi, foreste, edifici, sempre privi della presenza umana e che portano l’osservatore in una dimensione sospesa, metafisica.

Tobia Ravà (Padua, 1959) works in Venice and has been exhibiting his works in Italy and around the world since 1977. In addition to the artistic training obtained in the art schools of Venice and Urbino, he graduated in Semiology of Art and was a student by Umberto Eco. In the 1980s he specialized in Jewish iconography. His works are dominated by formulas of numbers and Hebrew characters arranged according to the rules of gematria, giving shape to landscapes, forests, buildings, always devoid of human presence and which lead the observer into a suspended, metaphysical dimension.

Avivit Segal nasce a Haifa nel 1970 e si forma artisticamente presso il Bet Berl College in Israele, dopo studi in psicologia e in medicina cinese. La sua arte è multidisciplinare, pur concentrandosi maggiormente sulla fotografia e su sculture e installazioni a base di pasta di pane. L’artista trova ispirazione nella natura e in tutte le sue manifestazioni. Ha esposto in mostre personali e di gruppo in Israele e in Europa.

Dado Schapira (Milano, 1957) si è laureato in scienze politiche internazionali. Dipinti e opere con l’uso di diversi materiali appartengono al suo percorso artistico fin dagli anni Ottanta. Lettere dell’alfabeto, sillabe, parole, frasi, storie, libri: tutti legati insieme o traforati, quasi cuciti insieme da fili monocromatici o multicolori; l’artista gioca con colori, pennelli, matite e disegni, con la luce e le sfumature dei fili, per lasciarci trasportare dalle nostre emozioni. L’idea è quella di utilizzare un libro come supporto pesante e complicato per racchiudere la nostra storia e il nostro passato sulle sue pagine, al contrario dell’arte, che dovrebbe essere fresca, provocante e ironica mentre sovverte le regole.

Dado Schapira (Milan,1957) graduated in international political sciences. The paintings and the jobs with the use of different materials, both as he supports that as realization of the work, belongs his artistic walk since the years 80. Letters of the alphabet, syllables, words, sentences, stories, books: all bound together or punctured, almost sewn together by monochromatic or multicolored threads, on the other, it is about playing with colors, brushes, pencils and drawings, with the light and shades from the threads, in order for us to be carried away by our emotions. The idea is to use a book and heavy and difficult support to enclose our history and our past on pages, as opposed to art which should be fresh air, provocation and irony whilst refuting material rules.

Edward Spitz è un artista enigmatico e misterioso. Nessuno sa chi sia. Ciò che si sa attraverso le sue opere è la consapevolezza del valore artistico del fumetto. Vecchi fumetti fanno, infatti, da base a lavori in acrilico e resina e personaggi come zio Paperone e Topolino sono i soggetti di opere allegre, ma allo stesso tempo drammatiche, frutto dell’osservazione della società contemporanea. Scoperto dal gallerista Ermanno Tedeschi, ha partecipato alla mostra collettiva “Unforgettable Childhood”, esposta in Italia e in Israele. Ha avuto una personale a Matera e una successiva è prevista a Torino per l’autunno 2019, tutte curate da Ermanno Tedeschi.

Edward Spitz is an enigmatic and mysterious artist. No one knows his real identity. His works show the artist’s awareness of the artistic value of comics. Old comics make the background of his canvas, which are completed with acrylic and resin paintings where characters such as Uncle Scrooge and Mickey Mouse are the main subjects. The result is canvases that are funny and serious at the same time, developed through the observation of contemporary society. Spitz has been discovered by gallerist Ermanno Tedeschi and his works were featured in collective exhibitions such as “Unforgettable Childhood” (in Italy and Israel) and in solo exhibitions, all cured by Ermanno Tedeschi.

Suly B. Wolff è nata in Brasile e vive e lavora in Israele. L’esperienza dell’emigrazione ha avuto un forte impatto sulla sua arte. In particolare viene colpita dall’architettura urbana di Tel Aviv e dalla flora israeliana, così diversa e nuova da quella sudamericana, che rappresenta nei suoi quadri. Oltre alla pittura, Wolff crea oggetti e installazioni quasi sempre realizzati con materiali di riciclo. Ha esposto in mostre personali e collettive in Israele, Stati Uniti ed Europa.

Suly B. Wolff was born in Brazil. She lives and works in Israel. Emigrating from Brazil was an experience that left a mark on her soul and art. She got struck by Tel Aviv architecture and by the Israeli flora, so different from South-America, and these are two main subjects in her paintings. As a multidisciplinary artist she creates objects and art installations mostly realized with recycled materials. She was featured in solo and collective exhibitions in Israel, the United States and Europe.
