THE PROJECT
Arokaria is an approved project by the Economic Development Board under the Investment Promotion (Property Development
Scheme) Regulations 2015 and licensed to sell to foreigners. Comprising of 9 luxury villas, the project is located within a
privileged, sought after neighbourhood at the edge of the Daruty Forest.

The name Arokaria, is derived from the Araucaria tree native to the Daruty Forest, and specifically the Araucaria Columnaris,
often used as a Christmas tree in Mauritius, due to its similarity to the traditional conifer.
The species is most populace tree in the forest, which covers 100 hectares of land that was formerly part of a sugar estate. The forest was planted in the late 19th century, with a variety
of endemic and native species and remains a protected wildlife reserve managed by the Mauritius Forestry Commission.
Created by an award winning global team, the project has been conceived to provide a rare level of flexibility, enabling owners to create a home designed around their tastes, requirements
and personal interests.

ARCHITECTURE
The design of these beautiful homes has been led by celebrated architect Marc Ritter, who, whilst born in France
has significant Indian Ocean experience and a passion for this paradise island. Inspired by the verdant surrounds, he has created a design that complements the island climate and
location’s collaboration with nature.
High ceilings and wide-open spaces effortlessly merge inside and exterior living areas, creating dynamic entertaining
spaces, whilst aligning with the practicalities of everyday usage. Private nooks and intimate corners provide areas in
which to escape and retreat.

We have collaborated with a world-class team to create a furniture & design pack that perfectly complements the
architecture and is inspired by the location. HPA have been working in the Indian Ocean for years and therefore have a unique understanding of the market, a formidable track in
decorating luxury homes in the region and are conveniently located in Mauritius, close to nearby Grand Baie.
They have created two different interior packages for owners to choose from, working with selected brands to deliver a look
that complements the design architecture of the property, the climate in Mauritius and island living. Owners are free to choose one of the styles we have created, work with the team to create something truly bespoke or do something
