The cultural Laboratory can be summarized by three interventions :

_Restauration , Rehabilitation and adaptation of old buildings according to the program objectives and status as a historic monument, and the restoration of the courtyard. Historical substance , particularly the facade and courtyard will be preserved, transmitted and developed.

The opening up of existing buildings into two strategic points affirm the identi-fication of the new institution and its inclusion into the architectural tissue of the city.

_Création of a new building for public activities, including contemporary architec-ture of concrete and glass will be written in a formal dialogue with the existing buildings and their environment in a process of mutual development avoiding all mimicry and any historical ambiguity;

_Restructuration of urban landscape forming the immediate external environ-ment of the project, creating a forecourt for the institution

The Abbey of Saint Pierre sur Dives , from medieval origin, has thoroughly been revised in the 17th century and sold during the French Revolution and divided into lots , most of which belonging to the municipality. Its current appearance is the result of this operation still initiated at its division into lots .

Project issues are of several kinds:

_development and restoration of South and west wings parts;

_réhabilitation of interior spaces (today abandoned).

The advantage of façade restoration is a combination of conservation strata of the history of the monument , in this case the modification of the openings , and a new stratum reported resulting from the reuse program , this new layer with among others aims to restore a «reading» of the missing Maurist composition.

The goal is to restore the perception of a unit of facades, but to avoid the risk of uniformity related to the return of a state whose existence remains theoretical , finally giving a discreet existence in the project right contemporary inmonument and thus affirm his new vocation for public service activities support.

This «reading» of the missing Maurist composition will be performed in the treat-ment of windows, including the addition of screens in etched glass, inspired by the texture of the stone facing, and located in the same bare siding with Maurist project.

Built by Louis xV in place of a former workhouse , the old royal Richaud hospital, under an apparent homogeneity proves to be the result of many successive campaigns that lasted over almost 80 years, since the beginning of its construc-tion carried out by the architect Charles -François Darnaudin in the years 1781 until its completion in 1859, even if some changes and freedoms compared to the original design have been made by the architects of the 19th century.

Taking the form of an H , the building is organized around a chapel adorned with a coffered ceiling and surmounted by a dome.

Sold to the Department of justice in 2001 to place the Court of Appeal of Ver-sailles, the project was finally abandoned in 2006, leaving the building in a state of disrepair.

Bought by a private operator, the new rehabilitation project involves the construc-tion of multi-family housing with 20 % of social housing and the creation of green spaces open to the public, with establishment of shops . The disused chapel will become a cultural center run by the city . A nursery and offices complete the operation.

The development of new housings being entrusted to jean -Michel wilmotte, the agency 2BDM supports the restoration of facades and roofs which are classi-fied , remarkable interiors , but also a significant part of housing located in the historic square.

The City of Paris has begun a revision procedure of its PSMV since 2006. The saved Marais area (126 ha), created in 1964 , shows the architecture of Paris of the 17th and 18th centuries , but also the industrial activity of the 19th and 20th centuries.

From the Malraux Law in 1962 , conservation areas are governed by a PSMV or Master Plan. Intended to prevent the loss of this historic heritage or irreversible damage , promoting its restoration and enhancement , and allowing its evolution.

The Marais , covering part of the 3rd and 4th arrondissements of Paris , was approved in 1996. Revision was necessitary to ensure the following tasks:

_Taking into account the guidelines of urban policy , social and sustainable city formalized in Project Planning and Sustainable Development ( PADD ) of P.LU. approved in 2006, particularly in housing and economic development ;

_Better protect and enhance the public space and the activities related to enter-tainment and living area (shops and crafts, light industry, tourism...) ;

_Maintain ambitions of the Climate Plan ;

_Promote expanded, encompassing architecture of the 19th and 20th centuries heritage policy ;

The procedure is being conducted jointly by the City and State services .

A private agency was commissioned by the state to conduct the necessary stu-dies to revise the PSMV. From a precise diagnostic plots heritage of the entire protected area , about 2000 built parcels , taking into account the results of the large consultation , draft new PSMV will be a public inquiry.

The analysis conducted with the help of City Planning of Paris service involves the construction of buildings sheets describing the general condition of this built on each parcel, its evolution and architectural requirements can be formulated about it.

In order to allow a restoration of the architectural heritage of its old center , the city of Nevers began the implementation and management of a Real Estate Recovery Program (IRP ) for re-market housing quality initially vacant .

Both operations are located in the area of Architectural Heritage Protection , Urban and Landscape ( zPPAUP ) of the city , for the rehabilitation of a former mansion of the 17th century in four units of 4 room apartments with development of a commercial space on the ground floor.The second project is the rehabilitation of an old royal pottery of the 18th century into 12 collective housing with smaller surfaces ( 2 and 3 room apartments )

The work was requested on the achievement of Building Permit ( record / presen-tation instructions for invalid people/ plans and elevations / insertions landscape ) and the production of written and graphic documents relating to the construc-tion.Master Plan

DEvELOPMENT OF AN OLD ROyAL POTTERY PROJECT AND A MANSION IN NEvERS

Page 26: Arnaud rossocelo PORTfOLIO 2016

Built in the 15th century, the « Manoir du Desert » in Honfleur is representative of the type of mansions built in the Pays d’Auge during this period. This remarkable building also has the advantage of having preserved some of its dependencies as well as part of its wall.

The study involved a general restoration of the Manor. The purpose was to make a historical note, an architectural statement and a description of the Manor with the inventory of disorders affecting today the housing Finally, this study proposed an intervention mode, phasing and a description of work to be done. A first estimation was advanced.

Positioned at the southeast side of the port of Nice, the Lympia caserne is a building among the most important architectural heritage of the city . Acting as a landmark in the urban fabric , the history of its construction, intertwined with the port, as well as the organization of its volume and its facades have naturally led to its protection as an historical Monument .In terms of its configuration, the Lympia caserne can be divided into two overlap-ping elements which can be distinguished : _The building of the former galley is a real base characterized by a long vaulted gallery supported on a defensive wall oriented north-south . The gallery, built in the middle of the 18th century, opens towards west with arcades. _The Pavillon de l’horloge remains as the only vestige of the two constructions companies above , the original galley in 1826 , the south pavilion was destroyed in 1945. It consists of 3 levels with converted attic and a central tower to receive the clock port. The Lympia caserne currently serves as public facilities and ser-vices used by the port. The redevelopment of the roof to its accessibility to all types of audiences is the object of the intervention.The restoration project of the Lympia caserne foremost takes into account the building’s impact on the image of the city, based on a medical assessment with highlights three key points on the stability of the roof, the boundary wall to the east and vertical cracks in the right facade and clock tower . Then a rehabili-tation will restore the initial state of the façades: Complete repointing elements stone / mending and stitching of cracks observed / point injections grout mor-tars at laying weakened / renewal coatings degraded or rebuilt hydraulic binder to restore polychrome.

The « Grand Paris « is a project to transform the Paris area into a large world and European metropolis of the 21th century. An international multidisciplinary consultation was launched to work on a prospective diagnosis , urban and lands-cape of the Parisian metropolis . The aim was to provide an overview on the future of the metropolis of the 21th century in general and the future of the Paris region in particular.This consultation identifies two areas of research devoted to developing areas of the metropolis. The first project , in which I participated , is more fundamental research on the « metropolis of the xxIst century post -Kyoto ». The second project is more an application of the « Prospective diagnosis of the Paris agglomeration » research.

After working on complex themes that are large or urban paradox by comparing the parsien model to other cities like New York , London or Beijing, we have been asked to think about and illustrate the physical dimension of the city. An analysis of metropolitan fabric, its recurring and recognizable shapes shown us in a comparative readability (Sections, impactions and juxtapositions ) , the hybrid territory , segmented , differentiated, non-homogeneous , the peripheries This analysis of the types of functional and programmatic areas ( suburban , cities, new cities with different modes decades , parks , etc ...) is also interested in systems, roads, routes, segmentations , distortions fluidity between built-up areas . The system of public spaces is much more discontinuous, distended and difficult to practice in metropolitan peripheries and all , from the report that was abandoned street - block, because ideologically perceived as outdated and not identifiable in our programs, our morals , our techniques. Found throughout the network structures (auto, railway , logistics parks , etc ...) that cross segment peripheral urban groundwater areas, which were often built into homogeneous functional areas ( housings, large groups , malls, activities).

Their structure rail system , homogeneity , their position , their remoteness, iso-lation , these spaces are often immediately favorable to « ghettoïsations » when with residential assignment in « closed pockets ». The same thing is sometimes visible in the richest residential areas which are closed : public space , roads are segmented, cut off from the network of public spaces and drawn from a single input and trees with dead ends.

I also participated through the first sketches to represent the city by developing the image of symbolic and representative terms such as the archipelago and the rhizome.

PROJECT OF REhAbILITATION OF ThE OLD GREAT MILLS OF PANTIN

Since a century, The Grands Moulins de Pantin is a monumental figure of the industrial heritage of the North- east of Paris, and a high iconic signal for the city of Pantin. Remarkable collection worthy of « castles « of the late nineteenth century factories, this imposing figure that characterizes it adds to the majesty of an unusual atmosphere , out of time .

Buildings, rebuilt in the 1920s and completed in the 1970s , it have evolved with new needs. The milling activity has disappeared for a restructuring project with a set of tertiary activities . It revolves around a major concern , « feed the existing to reveal, to promote a new urban logic to a neglected space ».

In this exercise , I participed in meetings with the developer, Meunier promotion, then I had to make changes on plans and sections as well as producing details for their presentation to the future client, BNP Paribas.

MASTER PLAN FOR OCCUPATION AND EXPLOITATION OF ThE COUNTy AREA OF ADOLPhE ChéRIOUX FOR RESEARCh

PROJECT OF URbAN DEvELOPMENT OF ThE CITy OF TETOUAN (MOROCCO)

Ring and connectionsGreen way and mails Built plates and housings

The domain of Chérioux is remarkable due to its location on the N7 axis , near Villejuif- Louis Aragon , its architecture of the 1930’s, but also its significant land occupied of 36 hectares, which more than 10 ha is divided into natural areas. The domain of Chérioux is now composed of twenty institutions and socio-educa-tional structures. The General Council of Val -de- Marne urged the creation of a director schem of occupation and exploitation of the area pattern, with as main objectives the reconstruction of this research site, its integration into the urban economic and territorial dynamics and its transformation into a true center of excellence combining employment, education and research.

It was accompanied by a diagnosis first guidelines :_diagnostic on the environment and built heritage / analysis site operation / analysis of development projects around / definition of criteria for the creation of a center - job training and research ;_analysis of the implications for institutions located on the site / development schedule and procedures for operational implementation of the master plan.

The site of Tetouan in Morocco enjoys an exceptional location, between the mountains in the background and the Mediterranean Sea. His views on the rocks of Carbo negro and Ceuta , coupled with the presence of wadis bordered by lush vegetation make it a space whose development is proving to be indispensable. The aim goal is to create a tourist and a golf course planning area.

Based on the topography of the site and its natural elements , five lines level off quickly; Actual lines of force , they become structures of urbanization, the «full» . The «empty», symbolized by the golf course, which takes the form of a dove, symbol of the city .

The work was to study the topographic context via the creation of a model , the general design of a traffic plan and the creation of different types of housing and residentials on built plates.

The city of Dreux questions its attractiveness and the value of its picture. It has launched a great reflection on the future of all 70 acres of its territory.

questioning its urban territory is very strategic because it includes both the pe-destrian and shopping streets of Dreux but the whole station area and between rail beams and the river Bléras. The choice of this scale both reveals the political ambitions of the municipality and the appreciation of the complexity of the urban question. The recognition of a downtown, the « heart agglomeration » satisfies the combination of activities and quality of spaces contributing to the urban image . Location of major equipment , instead of concentration of wealth , the center symbolizes the communal identity.

During this study divided in two major phases for a total duration of 10 months, I was invited to participate in the second , helping to translate the program stopped and spatially offering architectural and landscape requirements . Specifically, after completing the diagnostic , I worked to development of the master plan. Through this work, the urban project can enter a dynamic phase with a deepening of the urban reference , essential in determining priority operations, phasing and financial estimate.

The roadmap is divided into 3 main points , 3 «cores» : the active heart provides extension « organized and controlled « city center through the deve-lopment of a « mall « composed of attractive points, and tensioning cultural and institutional poles placed on mutable sites on the fringes. This active heart is irrigated by a new urban boulevard access to downtown / the living heart to create an eco-neighborhood located between the city center and railways, to ensure the passage of the industrial history history Nature / finally the valued heart, where the emphasis is on the development of architectural and landscape heritage with the establishment of a network of walks based on the need to have views of the heritage and landscape including the rediscovery of the river Blaise .

In order to renovate its buildings , the SECOMILE - Mixed Economy Company Housing of Eure - want to reflect on the future of Ivry neighborhood Evreux . Ope-ration enrolling in parallel the renovation program of district Madeleine ( adjacent district ) conducted by ANRU , the objective here is to consider an option that could lead to partial demolition with reconstruction of buildings as well as the redevelopment of outdoor spaces . Composed of 5 main buildings built between 1964 and 1968, the area is located in Ivry city east entrance of Evreux . However, this «strategic» position does not work, with several elements that reinforces the idea of isolation, including the presence of main roads ( RN13 and boulevards ) acting as physical breaks . This sensitive urban study was commissioned to make a comparative analysis of the various strengths and shortcomings of the neighborhood context. During a period of three months, the study was conducted according to the following elements of reflection : an analysis of the site in terms of operation / sociological analysis / analysis of buildings and estimation of the major renovations recommended / a proposal of possible scenarios .

This project is a Franco-Italian workshop between the Ecole de Chaillot and Fa-coltà di Archittetura della Sapienza, and studied the baronial palace of Casape , an emblematic monument of a village perched on a rocky outcrop in the heart of the valley of the Anio, 50km from Rome.Built, enlarged, embellished and transformed over the centuries, the palace need consolidations following successive collapses due to earthquakes. The 2001 has severely weakened it. Since 1991, this rich and complex structure expects a draft conservation, restoration and enhancement.

The study summarizes the method implemented by the workshop to understand in all its aspects the palace and its surroundings, leading to a restoration pro-ject based on understanding and places of architectural and static issues. If it focuses on the consolidation and reuse of the old palace, the project does not overshadow the urban and landscape dimensions, intrinsically linked to the buil-ding elements of its history and source of understanding of the «spirit places» . Casape maintains a symbiotic relationship with the land, a theatrical relationship between a village that occupies the stage on a spur and hilly landscape in the background. Main element of the composition of Casape, the palace control access to fortified town. As a lock for the entrance to the village, it has 3 fronts, North, South, East and open to the landscape. In the west the first houses are clinging to the palace. Casape has all the iconic attributes of urban palaces of the Italian Renaissance. The access to the palace sequence , features a miniaturized monumental staging , based on the major components of the architecture : the grand staircase , the courtyard and loggia overlooking the garden .

Restoration of the staircase Restitution of the ceremonial hall Main level of the Palazzo

The knowledge of the palace, the analysis of historical stages fed by on-site investigations has identified the main economic issues.These have led to consider the period of the 17th and 18th centuries as the reference state. It is our point of view the result of an architectural and urban coherent project, and the historical point at which the palace has not suffered as both architectural and static damage. That is why the restoration project proposes the revival of the axis of composition - consisting of honor , courtyard, fountain and loggia to re- innervate village , landscape and palaces.

This restoration works to restore architectural and static consistency of this palace restoring it, on the basis of remains in place, appearance and figure he presented the 17th and 18th centuries.

The party set used for the restoration of the building emphasizes a reappro-priation of the approaches to enhance the image of a palace found, built on the bedrock overlooking the surroundings.

The report of the palace with the public space and its landscape is reflected in the creation of a garden, in the exact location of the garden of the 18th century, in continuity with the great sequence staircase , courtyard and loggia.Composed around the axis loggia fountain , it magnifies the representation axis. Designed as an extension of the palace, it’s also the result of the sequence.It appears as the intermediary between the palace and the landscape.

After the presentation of the city of Dreux in its physical, urban and historical constraints (including the implementation of a plan of historical topography), then the diagnosis around a perimeter issues, around Métézeau place and its imme-diate surroundings, the study undertook an inventory of buildings by providing information on buildings remarquables (or not) elements in the area.

This analysis allowed the establishment of a protection tool, to safeguard and enhance a varied architectural, urban and landscape heritage.

Once defined and mapped, this tool of protection, far from being fixed, is the basis for the outline of a management plan that integrates all components of territory issues and assists in the identification of areas that respond priority.

The study of the future of the site of the General Hospital of Clermont-de-l’ Oise group took place in several stages. The first diagnosis was about the urban city. It proposed a proactive vision of the evolution of Clermont about the next twenty years.

Then the study identified «intentions development», that is to say the lines of conduct to base action on this real piece of city that makes up this site and its surroundings.Finally, it proposed a scheme and incorporated housing, public facilities and spaces to represent the transformation of this space and the impact on the rest of the city program.

Then came the architectural structuring public equipment pre-programming , a Health home.However, each health equipment is unique, designed and developed in a given context . The first stage of reflection , therefore, was to clarify the contours of the health center would be suitable for Clermont .The analysis of the Clermont context would allow us to define the main charac-teristics of this equipment.whois the public ? what are the operating principles of services that host ? How can we consider its urban insertion ?

In a second step , it remained to specify the type of structure put in place to achieve these goals.what activities and what skills are grouped ? what methods of financing and management may we have?The social project of the equipment was used to define the contours of the Health home, highlighting the objectives of this project and the broad guidelines to achieve them.

The second chapter of reflection returned to the heart of the project, explaining the content of its architectural program.It described the nature of these activities within the institution and practices involved in the various services.This analysis explained the actors with different interests, then allowed to define the ability of areas to be supports the activities of this house of Health.Through the study of relationships carried by different actors, the content of the program was well developed in these materials , technical and financial aspects .

Then it remains to determine the type of project management, as well as the selection procedure of the supervisor and then address the operation timing of the realization of health equipment .The last part was finally to clarify major technical guidance in a sustainable development perspective , before ending the provisional budget of the equipment.

Identified as an artistic and cultural center of awakening, the intervention pro-poses a meeting between the world of entertainment and an exceptional site. The starting point of our project is the unique quality of the site for public facili-ties : a green covering the ancient remains of the amphitheater of Lutetia.

The main challenge of this project is obviously to create an architectural space fully open on the Arena, magnificent monument and protected, while encouraging the cultural influence of the whole district.In fact, the project combines in its operation distinct parts: the spaces of music and dance in the south side and theater bookstore in the north , each connected by a pedestrian bridge true «architectural promenade» with views and a ring connection used as a link between the volumes.

Arranged in successive waves around the Arena, these entities are superim-posed on the basic frame of the Gallo-Roman amphitheater. For each, classrooms , workshops and respective studios are buried and organized around a forum, benefiting from the contribution of skylight atriums that are vegetated place. Acting like a negative during the night, the light shines from the inside forums and galleries to the park and the central stage.

In addition, the program combines two diametrically opposed scenic areas:

_The first closed theater, called «Capitan», is built in the basement at the former site of Saint -Victor tanks. The Access is from a staircase of the renaissance. The capacity of this public space is 350 seats.

_The second amphitheater Arena, is actually open : central component of the project will be used differently according to the different times of the day jour. During the day, it will serve as a forum, as central plaza, open to all.Evenings and weekends, it will have its original function : a theater.

Artists, and within that thematic exhibitions will emerge, its outer shell , treated so that it will obtain an acoustic quality and appropriate lighting will be wearing a roof awning extending to protect the scene.Its facade comes alive with a fixed screen for scenery during performances, throwing the rest of the time the original moldings. Any sound device will be in-corporated to complement the underside of the first blade corten, located above the bleachers, to ensure optimal staging of the performance space .

The unit will be ensured by the coated blades of corten steel; The layout of these, only pierced in places to let the old trees emerge, are the link to the Arena.

The project aims at answering one simple question:How to connect to the best the high part of the city withthe Guadiana river? Rather than establish the project within the immediate proxi-mity of the ruins, our focus is on the main plaza in advanced contact but in height with the amazing landscape.The concept is to recreate a link which exceeds the simple art gallery project to give an urban dimension, linking the two banks of the river, the high part and its surroundingsYes but…how to meet the difference of heights?The project is designed as a line, a pathway.Based on an existing volume, it is extruded and becomes a stair tower used as a junction between the high place and the project platform.This platform bridge serves as a connection with the other side of the river.The podium is carved with an event, a bubble serving as an entry point. This shel-ter protects a monumental staircase which allows access to the main lobby of the art gallery. The reception area will also be accessible by stairs and elevator inside the tower. This space is thought generously, it is a meeting point that can easily accommodate a cafe.The gateway is used to cut and slide the project along this axis to clearly distin-guish the reception area to the gallery spaceAn inner street serves as a spine role, distributing functions and bringing the visitor from the entrance to the exhibition section located below. This veritable architectural promenade which is a gallery art street as well generates a gra-dual expansion of the heights necessary to showrooms. The entire gallery arch strcuture, is a reminiscence and tribute to the traditional construction methods. Lines carved on the roof and high windows allow a game of natural lights and modulations that suits perfectly with the enlightening requirements of rooms. The materials used will match with the tone of the high whiteness glowing city and highlighting the stones of the wall and the blue water, water that can be found on the roof as a waterfall to the river.On the terrace carved bleachers will serve for theatrical representations, in open contact with the stunning site and its skyline.

The project proposes a CONNECTION between an ExHIBITION and SHOwROOM program, a design and FASHION HUB but also a support and LEARNING CENTER for young designers, and TRADITIONAL THAI ARCHITECTURE.

Each element of the program is housed in a box, a volume whose contours show the type of thai vernacular houses. The original form of the houses in the South East Asia is a GABLE STRUCTURE BUILT ON STILTS, wITH A MULTIFUNCTIO-NAL SPACE UNDER THE PLATFORM. The interest here is BOTH FORMAL AND AN ANSwER TO CLIMATIC CONSTRAINTS: using the characteristics of these habi-tats and their benefits in ways of CLIMATE MANAGEMENT. The roof overhangs and accentuation of the roofs, and the elevation of houses on stilts enables to fight against heavy rains but also create spaces with shadow. well protected from the sun, hanging squares and gardens are created, places for rest, stroll and meetings.

These buildings are grouped around terraces and squares, like family rooms and outdoor living spaces, and connected by an INNER STREET wHICH BECOMES THE SPINE OF THE CLUSTER. The main them is the SUPERPOSITION of layout of volumes disposed on SEVERAL LEVELS which allows natural ventilation places, large gables receiving filters or screen walls modulating light.

A series of wALKwAYS CONNECT THE DIFFERENT PLATFORMS AND POLES OF ACTIVITIES, turning into a pedestrian walk from the street to the hub, with the BTS Sky train. It’s not a straight line, but an progressive experiment of the village through culture and fashion.

A CITY. Helsinki. Definitely full of contrasts, between history, architecture and nature.A SITE. AN INTERSECTION of two main composition guidelines, following the North/ South and East/ west axis.A LINK between city and port and a transition from Tahititornin Vuori park to Helsinki bay. A PROGRAM. A MUSEUM. In fact THE Guggheinheim Museum. One of the most dyna-mic art collection of the world. which means offering spaces easily adaptable and multi-functionals.The program makes us understand the project as a process, a moment, a marriage of constraints, a dialog between context and site, what is (not) now and what will be there.AN INVITATION. FROM OUTSIDE TO INSIDE. Its implantation drawn by its master plan is easily perceived as an answer to the wish of opening the site and the building on the outside. By pushing and stretching the general volume, by playing with full and empty, the museum create public spaces, places connected to the nature, letting the green and the blue integrate the project.A DIALOG wITH SUMMER AND wINTER. FROM INSIDE TO OUTSIDE. The museum adapts to the Seasons and climatic constraints. The heart of each element is dug to generate patios like inner light boxes. These Skylights let bring the natural light inside the building throughout the year. The skin of the facade is made of aluminum and glass scales, playing and reflecting time variations. Visitors will have the opportunity thanks to terraces and gardens to enjoy outstanding views over the city and the bay. In winter, these spaces will wear their white winter coats with skating rinks and other activities. A NEw SIDE. FROM COAST TO COAST. The museum creates a urban counterpart with the existing urban frontline. Along the road, the facade is made porous through openings fitting the city. A SHELTER. The maritime façade is carved, offering a protection turned to the seaside. This cantilevered porch becomes a gateway, the first sequence in the disco-very of the museum when coming from the city. A new cultural forum where people will love to meet.A NEw LANDMARK. A NEw ICON. Sculpting a gross form, extruding, cutting, digging…then comes the answer, defined by cantilevered boxes as a path, step by step, from city to nature. Then becomes a new urban milestone, physically connected with the other city’s symbols such as the Market Hall and the Helsinki Cathedral.A PROMENADE. A jOURNEY. FROM BOTTOM TO TOP. The museum is designed as a continuous promenade. A stairway composed by exhibition spaces propose to inves-tigate the different rooms at different heights, offering at any times promontories with different points of view on the city.

The project creates a spatial and programmatic tension, with bar on stilts, while seeking his own identity. The location is thought to not close the island with a large bar similar to the main building but rather to propose the creation of an open block that allows multiple spaces with different scales which gradually spread over the site.

At both ends, are the Tschumi building and the new project. It appears as a element of dialectical discourse between the existing and the proposed work.

If the bar has developed a horizontal language, new office seeks to explore spa-tial verticality. If the bar is placed in a frontal relationship with the landscape, extension rather seeks to integrate within it.

The bar is structured symmetrically between individual offices and open-plan offices, the new building offering a 3D relationship.

The project wants to rehabilitate the library archives of Versailles by incorpora-ting a program of housing, offices and other commercial activities. This composite work consists of 3 boxes built during three successive cam-paigns. It’s the work of the architect Michel Roux-Spitz.

This former warehouse annex of the National Library of France, is a veritable enclave on a steeply sloping field. This is a demonstration, a manifest of rationa-lism characteristic of the classicist architect holding an heiress modernity both new construction techniques and rationalism of the modern movement .

The project aims to continue the will of the architect , trying to understand and express the principles of architecture by a gradual deconstruction of volumes. A skin of the building with its original matrix game trellises glass tiles is left in the state. There is then a gradual fragmentation of facades, a deconstruction of volumes.

This work on solids and empty spaces is materialized by a double translucide façade, offering a perfect reaction to natural and artificial light. The rhetoric of specific Roux-Spitz light is strengthened. This split membrane allows the creation of generous interior streets, ideal meeting spaces.

The supporting frame is respected , generating a basic module from which the distinct functional and clear internal organization takes shape.

In the end, irrigated by bridges crossing through volumes and innervating the hearts of the island, breathing gently by gardens located in the interstices, it is not less than 28 units that take place (5 two room, 7 three room, 6 four room & finally 10 five room ), in buildings B and C. In Building A , its generous plates opening on a patio.

The project tries to answer a crucial question : How relevant is it to schedule a house architecture in Paris, as long as one decides to settle in this city ?This question is based on an inventory, a house of architecture installed in an ancient convent in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, but which lacks a strong signal. Added with a modest program - 700m2 - the project can be considered as an extension of the existing.

The place is stopped, then we have to understand and use the surrounding urban context. Very close to the Gare de l’Est , the main challenge here is to create an event visible by all and for all. The focus is immediately on the square in front of the Recollet convent . So , no need actually to create a place since it already exists ... Bordered by Highway, namely the rue du Faubourg St Martin and rue du 18 May 1945 , the location is ideal, being a base, a pedestal for architecture to create.

The idea is to create a dynamic, ethereal and continuous surface, with light, open and closed place , both contained in the architecture of the city and contains in the architectural subject . A Ribbon snake runs along the rue du Faubourg St Martin: this architectural form plays on the ambiguity between interior and exterior , between public and private space, in fact questioning the meaning of the architecture.

To clarify the skin of the building , it is a metal mesh made of perforated stainless steel sheets and wrapping around a primary structure composed of aluminum profiles based on steel beams. A glazed façade allows the braided filter natural light.

This mysterious architecture acts as an invitation, an entry. A ramp, leads us to go into semi- buried volumes. The first hull has reception. Glass hall, this space is a platform for direct access to the exhibition hall on the lower level.

Taking place in this movement that symbolizes the ribbon ramp, the visitor has successively workshops and the conference room before to come to a patio. Entities are deployed in layers as you descend the spiral, each located below the other. But visitors can directly access to the library located at the site of the small garden of the convent, before passing to the third workshop. The ramp makes the transition with the Recollets.

ARCHITECTURAL PART

The project aims to establish a dynamic symbolizing as a «link», an architectural relationship between Paris and its suburbs.The situation constitutes a breach between the two, it is rather to take advan-tage of this physical barrier which generate tensions.

The market is a basement for the house of initiatives.If a particular attention is paid to their future locations , a series of oblique lines allows to «renew contact».

The building is in the form of an interweaving of taut lines whose geometry is structured by these tensions.A set of folding / unfolding of a continuous surface «in motion» is established, to free the inside / outside relationship by its permeability.

The distribution of interior spaces follows this logic, with the activities related to culture, work and social in a clear guideline.Host sites and transition are located in the heart of the various arms of the origami. An inner path allows easy transition to other services.we can add that the non-load bearing inner walls are movable , which allows a high modularity surfaces and functions.

STRUCTURAL PART

Structurally, the building is entirely made of reinforced concrete (except steel joi-nery ) : it allows to consider that these forms seems to defy the ordinary laws of gravity to obey those lightness. Of course , this material will be subject to special treatment to suit the geometric shapes of the building.

The sculptural possibilities of concrete gives it a striped appearance. Combined with sharp edges and irregular walls, the building acquires a kinetic character, giving us a sense of fluidity and movement.

Exterior bearing walls and interior ones have a thickness ranging from 20 to 60cm depending on the charges and brought to enforce.A layout plan, determined by putting the flat faces of the volume for the conti-nuity formwork joints during passage from one face to the other.

The light also becomes the constituent material of this architecture. with large openings framing on the outside , the interior spaces are in natural light as well (which will have significant effect of limiting the artifcial light, and the energy consumption).
