Areaware is a Brooklyn based design brand which produces everyday objects that are functional and unusual. Our goal is to create thoughtful products that inspire an emotional response. An appreciation for beauty is central to what it means to be alive, and we hope to embody this principle in even the simplest things.

Bryce Wilner’s Gradient Puzzle is a vibrant way to meditate on color. The act of putting it together is slow and deliberate, where the color of each piece is used to locate its proper position. We’ve used a thick stock and high quality art paper, so the puzzle can be assembled again and again without losing its edge.

Minim Playing Cardsby Joe Doucet

3.5 2.5 .75”

Minim is a deck of regulation playing cards that considers how much design you can take away while still maintaining a playable deck. Simple geometric symbols are reductive versions of hearts, clubs, diamonds and spades. While it is necessary to mark the backs of regulation cards, we’ve done so with minimal diagonal lines instead of the typical ornamental graphics.
