Upcoming Art Show

During the month of March students created two

different “Sun” sculptures.

Version 1 (Pictures 1 & 2), was meant to be a

whimsical depiction of the “Sun”. Students created

the center portion by taping newspaper to a piece

of cardboard. They later used glue and paper tow-

els to cover this form (Decoupage). After this

had dried overnight, yellow tempera paint was ap-

plied and facial details were added (pom-pom nose,

wiggle eyes, and construction paper mouth).

Version 2 (Pictures 3 & 4), has the same center

portion as Version 1 (minus the facial details). In

this version, students added hand painted and col-

ored “Rays” to create a more stylized “Sun”.

ACA Art Education Department and the Adult Education Program will having

another group art show.

The exhibit will be held at the Artist’s Collective gallery in Hyde Park (4338 Albany-Post

Rd). It will run from May 16th to May 19th (6-8pm) with an opening reception on May

15th.

I hope to see everyone there!!
