NEW Sermon Series: Honest to God

Title: “An ‘Honest to God’ Point of View”

Text: Psalm 8:1-9

Big Idea: God is both personal and all-powerful and therefore, He deserves to be the primary

focus of my daily life.

1) I need a point of view that prioritizes God’s majesty.

(Psalm 8:1-2 / Romans 1:20-24 / Matthew 21:14-17)

2) I need a point of view that recognizes the contrast.

(Psalm 8:3-5)

3) I need a point of view that remembers my purpose.

(Psalm 8:6-8 / Hebrews 2:8 / Hebrews 2:14-15)

Practical Application:

What actions can help me make God (not self) my primary “point of view”?

1. Always make worship about God not me.

2. Treat all people as God’s image bearers.

3. Stand against any policy that disrespects human life.

4. Promote creation over absurdity of evolution.

5. Remind children that they matter to God.

6. Be good stewards of God’s creation.

7. Treat my job like practical worship to God.

8. Enjoy God’s creation.
