Kenny, president of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Prof. J. H. Louw, presi- dent of the College of Physicians, Surgeons, and Gynae- cologists of South Africa, and Prof. R. B. Salter, senior vice-president of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Scottish Council for Postgraduate Medical Education Dr. Christopher Clayson has been appointed chairman of the new Scottish Council for Postgraduate Medical Educa- tion, which will advise professional and educational bodies, as well as the Government, on coordinating postgraduate medical education and training in Scotland. International Cancer Fellowships The International Union Against Cancer, with funds provided by the American Cancer Society, is to award fellowships for research on cancer. They will be granted to experienced investigators, at present on the staff of universi- ties, teaching hospitals, research laboratories, or similar institutions, who wish to work on the experimental or clinical aspects of cancer research at a single institution abroad. Application forms (which must be returned by Sept. 1) and further details may be had from the Union, P.O. Box 400, 1211 Geneva 2, Switzerland. Transplantation Research A Canadian Medical Research Council group on trans- plantation research has been established at the University of Alberta. Research will be undertaken over a period of five years by a team directed by Dr. J. B. Dossetor (Alberta) and Dr. Erwin Diener (Melbourne). Nutritional Problems in the Tropics A symposium on this subject will be held jointly by the Nutrition Society (Chandos House, 2 Queen Anne Street, London W.1) and the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, on Thursday, April 16, at Manson House, 26 Portland Place, London W.l. Dr. R. W. D. Turner has been elected an honorary member of the Cardiological Society of India, and of the Pakistan Cardiac Society. The annual exhibition by members of the Medical Art Society will be held in London on May 2-16. Invitations may be had from the hon. secretary, Dr. M. B. J. McGrath, 27 Arundel Gardens, London W.l1. The dates of the congress of the World Federation of Hxmo- philia have been changed from July 26-29 as previously announced (March 28, p. 682) to July 25-27.
