AS0002E APPI air-powered sieves and screens For sieving, sifting and classifying powder and granule Airtechnic has developed an unique solution: the APPI air-powered sieve. APPI means Airtechnic Powder or Product Improver. Air is used as the driving force to sieve and screen solids. Air-powered sieving technology is suitable for sieving and scree- ning all types of solids, but excels especially in: (1) sieving, sifting and classifying powder and granule which are hard to sieve with conventional sieving technology, like low den- sity and sticky powders (2) sieving small particles at an extremely high accuracy. Advantages By using absolute sieves powder can be sieved with an accuracy of 2 μm. Compared to conventional sieving technology APPI air-powered sieving technology has a considerably higher sieving capacity per square metre. Air-powered sieving equipment operates almost completely automatic, resulting in a high throughput per square metre, optimal process control, high flexibility, low energy consumption, maximum safety and user-friendliness. Because the system operates under underpres- sure the environment remains dust free. Fur- thermore the systems has few moving parts, so maintenance cost are limited during the life time of the system.
