To prevent muscles stiffening.

06 Seat

The seat cushion should be rounded forward in a ‘waterfall’ shape allowing the thighs freedom of movement to ease circulation.

04 Seating

The angle between the thighs and the torso should be approximately 90 –105 degrees. The back of the seat should be slightly raised to support the pelvis from tipping backwards and reduce pelvis stress.

05 Thighs

The length and width of the thigh should be fully supported. Thighs should run parallel to the floor. Sliding seat options are usualy required for taller adults.

The back of the chair should allow the ‘S’ shape of the spinal column to be formed and supported. This will prevent slumping in the chair from which back ache and future problems can occur.

07 Feet

Feet should easily and comfortably rest flat on the floor to prevent pressure being placed on the thighs.

Armrests play an importnat part in reducing shoulder and neck strain by supporting the weight of the user’s arms.

StackThis chair is capable of being stacked safely away for minimal storage.

PCBStands for Permanent Contact Mechanism, this allows the seat to move up and down, the backrest up and down and also in and out. The backrest can be locked at any angle.

All our stocked seating uses fire retardancy fabric with 2 levels of fire retardancy. All foams regardless of fabric are tested to BS5852, Crib 5.

Sliding seat means that the seat depth can be controlled adding yet another level of adjustability.

Chairs with a self centering system will return to the same predefined position when the user stands. Whilst in use the chair will pivot from side to side as required under the user’s weight. Self Centeringmechanism does not have height adjustment and is meant for meetings.

The PCB 2 Lever mechanism performs the same functions as the PCB mechanism with the added advantage of the back angle being controlled by a separate lever rather than a hand wheel. This method provides a faster and more accurate adjustment for the user.

PCB 2 LeverSynchroThe back and seat move in a free flowing motion with a movement ratio of 2:1 (for every one degree the seat tilts, the back moves by two) allowing the user to find optimum comfort with minimum effort. The user is able to free float or fix the seat and back in any one of three to five positions. Torsion control allows adjustment to match the user’s weight with an anti shock system, preventing the user from being thrown forwards when unlocking the mechanism.

Synchro 2 LeverThe Synchro 2 Lever allows for synchronised movement. Lever one controls the seat height whilst lever two controls the seat and back adjustment – for every one degree the seat tilts the back moves by two. When the perfect angle is found the mechanism can be locked in place. Torsion control allows adjustments to match the user’s weight.

Typically found on executive chairs Knee tilt means that the pivot point is found towards the front of the seat allowing your feet to remain on the floor while tilting backwards. Knee tilt features seat height control and back and seat angle adjustments which can be locked in up to five positions or work with the user’s movement.
