Whenever we think of St.Joseph's College, invariablyour mind conjures up the

school at Darley Road, Colombo 10.But…hold on!

Not far, from the bustling town ofNugegoda, is another school, held inhigh esteem by many - St. Joseph'sCollege, Nugegoda.

From small beginnings, thisschool has graduated to reach a veryhigh level in education, with manyplus factors. And they continue tomarch on!

The school is now raising fundsfor a service building, says Bro.Chamara Hettiarachchi.

And working hard on a fund-rais-ing event, to make this goal a reality,is the Prefect Association of theCollege.

They have put together a musicalevent, and are calling it "Rhythm ofthe 70s."

What makes this concert extraspecial are the acts that have beensigned up to do the needful, on theevening of Sunday, December 15th,2013.

They have gone for probablythe best line-up of entertainers -artistes who believe in keepingan audience ENTERTAINED.

And there is variety aswell.

"Rhythm of the 70s" willfeature Corrine Almeida,Annesley Malawana,Marazelle Goonetilleke, RajivSebastian, Shyami Fonseka, AnilBharati, Ronnie Leitch, PriyanthaFernando, and Errol Fernando.

They will be musically backed bythe Super Chimes.

The venue is the Sri Lanka Youth

be featured at the Galadari

Hotel's 31st night bash, andlater at the Margarita Blue.

The singer, who does itthe Neil Diamond way, did

check out the local showbizscene not too long ago thisyear (2013), and performedwith Mirage at the MargaritaBlue.

of the rapper turning 44 years old.Jay made the announced, via his web-

site, Life & Times. The post read: "OnDecember 3rd, one day before my 44thbirthday I will embark on a 22 Days chal-lenge to go completely vegan, or as I pre-fer to call it, plant-based!!"

Why 22 days? Well, according to theBrooklyn native, "Psychologists have saidit takes 21 days to make or break a habit.On the 22nd day, you've found the way."

He then further explained why he haschosen to go vegan now.

"There's something spiritual to meabout it being my 44th birthday and theserendipity behind the number of days inthis challenge; 22 (2+2=4) coupled with thefact that the challenge ends on ChristmasDay," he wrote. "It just feels right!"

Jay calls this venture a "spiritual and

physical cleanse" and asks for any vegansout there to aid him with advice as the 44-year-old isn't familiar in the practice ofveganism, "Any professional vegans outthere that have any great food spotsplease help out!" he wrote. "Please ha."
