enhancement and the outcome achieved by the end of the year *
Plan of Action
� The cell has taken various steps to bring together in one place educational facilities of the
highest order for training students in all branches of academic activities.
� Recognising the estimable students in sports and NSS and at the same time regulating
their attendance and ensuring that their scholastic life is disrupted to the minimum.
� Fostering research culture among the students and staff.
� To motivate all the departments to organise National and International seminars.
� To strengthen the activities and functioning of the career guidance and placement cell.
� To organize guest lectures by eminent resource persons/subject experts in all the
departments to enhance the academic input.
� To continue the schemes of Remedial Coaching classes for the slow learners and Bridge
courses for students from rural backgrounds.
� To give adequate counseling and guidance to students in their personal/ academic/
professional fronts through the counseling and guidance cell.
� To promote collaborative research with academic bodies.
� To enhance the quality of teaching- learning process.
� To motivate the students to secure University ranks and gold medals.

Outcome achieved :
� The NSS volunteers and sports students were identified and their academic performances
were tracked to see their scholastic life is not disturbed.
� The faculty members who have completed their Ph.D were asked to register themselves
for guideship and those who were pursuing their research were asked to complete it at the
earliest.
� Various departments of the college organised National seminars for the benefit of the
students.
� With the efficient functioning of the career guidance and placement cell 44 students got
placed in various reputed organisations.
� Our students have bagged 12 university ranks.
� ICT enabled teaching was adopted in many classes to enhance the quality of education.

� Student counselling and grievance redressal cell is effectively functioning in the college,
where students get counselling on their personal issues, academic and psychological
problems.
� Career guidance cell is also working parallel with the placement cell of the college and
many students have been placed in the reputed organisations with a good salary package.

� Every year PTA meetings are conducted by all the departments, which serve as a bridge
between the students, parents and the teachers. In the meeting, the teachers inform the
parents about the progress of their wards in the academics. The suggestions, complaints,
criticisms of the parents are invited and needed amendments are done.

� As the college is affiliated to Bharathiar University, the revision/ updation are done by
the university. However, our college contributes by the way of suggestions/ideas

2.6 Innovative processes adopted by the institution in Teaching and Learning:
� Established a plan of action by each department regarding the syllabus completion.
� Upon completion of syllabus, syllabus completion certificate is submitted by the teacher
which is certified by head of the departments and given it to the principal.
� Teachers are expected to submit teaching plan after work load allocation. Departmental
meetings help to keep regular update on progression of classes.

� Teaching ability is monitored from feed back taken from students after every semester
and through informal interactions between the students and the class in-charge/ HOD/
Principal, in order to ensure quality teaching.
� Continued the scheme of Remedial Coaching classes for slow learners in order to
improve their academic performance.
� Emphasis is laid on the active learning process and on the cultivation of scholarly habits
and scientific methods.
� Learning is made student-centric by focusing on learner-centered pedagogy.
� Adopted various innovative methods in the department apart from tradition bound chalk
and talk method. The teaching and learning methods comprise technology driven
pedagogical processes like power point presentation, LCD, virtual labs, seminars, group
discussions, guest lectures, webinars, quiz etc.,
� Organised field work and industrial visits to provide a practical exposure in the
development of technical skills.
� Use of poster presentation related to some specific topic from the syllabus, screening of
films by language department is also adopted.
� Research articles or paper cuttings of current affairs are displayed on the department
notice boards.
� The college runs 28 Add-on courses in which 5 of them were introduced during the
academic year. The main aim of these Add-on courses is to build self-reliance among
students by strengthening the entrepreneurship development in them. Beauty Culture,
Earn While You Learn and Home Made Products etc., are the few to mention.

2.12 How does IQAC Contribute/Monitor/Evaluate the Teaching & Learning processes:
� The IQAC by virtue of its existence and manifold functions regulates all the multifaceted
activities of the institution and moulds the college into a quality centered seat of learning.
To be precise, it qualitatively regulates the overall development of the institution.
� Representation of IQAC via participation in the academic council meetings.
� The IQAC ensures that all faculty members teaching different courses submit their
course outlines which should have a clearly laid out course objectives and evaluation
criteria prescribed.
� The IQAC ensures that the class in-charges receive students’ feedback and a consolidated
report of the individual faculty performance is done at the end of every semester in order
to inculcate quality in teaching.

� The IQAC ensures that all the hardware and software used in the laboratories, classrooms
are in proper order throughout the year.
� A detailed documentation is maintained and organized. This is monitored via internal
audits and inspections; this activity is mandated and a checklist has been provided to all
the departments.
� The IQAC monitors the implementation process and collects relevant documents at the
end of the semesters, as a pool for collection of information and maintenance of the
documents. From the information pool formulated IQAC prepares the Annual Quality
Assurance Report (AQAR).
� The IQAC has formed a committee to monitor the Continuous Internal Assessment (CIA)
examination being conducted and to monitor the evaluation of marks.
� The IQAC has also formed attendance monitoring committee which scrutinises the
attendance given to the students and proper warning would be given to the students in
case there is any shortage of attendance to appear for the examination.
� The IQAC motivates the departments to conduct seminars, conferences and workshops
besides sensitizing to ecological and environmental issues.

3. Research, Consultancy and Extension
3.1 Initiatives of the IQAC in Sensitizing/Promoting Research Climate in the institution
� Promoting, improving and enhancing research activities of departments through UGC
funded major research projects, college funded faculty projects, mini projects beside
academic project.
� Encouraging staff for publication of articles in research journals, motivating active
participation of faculties in seminars/symposia/workshop and presentation of papers.
� Encouraging faculty to send research project proposal to various funding agencies.
� To start and establish a Research Forum, in order to foster a research environment at the
college.

5. Student Support and Progression
5.1 Contribution of IQAC in enhancing awareness about Student Support Services
� Ensure that every student receives support outside the classroom in order to meet
personal challenges, get placement related guidance and in developing their soft skills
� Imparting Personality Development Programmes, Communication skills Development
Programmes, Entrepreneurship training, Orientation courses, NSS/ YRC activities,
Special counseling for the deserved etc., for enabling leadership skills.
� A vast array of multipronged smart stakeholder focused activities were planned and
executed through the measures like Earn While You Learn, placement assistance,
remedial classes for slow learners, physical education patronage, financial assistance and
fee concessions.

� Value based education is imparted to students thereby helping them develop a

6.11 Activities and support from the Alumni Association
� The Alumni Forum is an association of former students of the institute. This is a platform
to re-unite with their own batch mates & other batch students, interact with the present
batch students, share their ideas, views, experiences amongst the forum, get in touch with
institute, and to form new friendship and business relationship. The forum organizes
Alumni Meet every year. Apart from the meet, an alumnus can also interact with the
institute and present batch students through the activities like guest lectures, seminars,
placement opportunities in their organization. They extend support to improve
infrastructure facilities also.
� Feed back of Alumni plays a vital role to update need based curriculum with innovations
to enrich the knowledge of the upcoming students.
