Proposed Additions
The following proposed additions were identified after a review of enrolment growth in excess of capacity. Boundary changes to balance enrolments are not feasible considering enrolment in excess of capacity at neighbouring schools. The size of each addition was based on the projected long-term enrolment at that school. The age and condition of Relocatable Classroom Modules (RCMs) were also factored into the priority order of school additions. Similar to the Planning principles for new schools, additions are based on the following:
enrolment in excess of capacity minimizing student transitions future enrolment growth reduced need for temporary accommodation (portables) organization of school that reflects community needs (e.g. K-5, 6-8, K-8, balanced calendar) transportation savings

Regular Track Boundary Changes, Grade Re organizations and Maps
The following boundary changes are recommended for implementation. Community meetings will be scheduled to fully inform the community of the boundary changes and rationale for each.
Where possible, it is the Board's practice to allow students who are entering their graduating year to remain in their current school. For example, students entering grade 5 at an affected K-5 school will not be impacted by the boundary change.
Boundary Changes
a) Brameast # 6 P.S./Beryl Ford P.S./Castlemore P.S.
The Brameast community has experienced significant enrolment growth in both the regular track and French Immersion programs. Brameast # 6 P.S. is likely to be the last elementary school to be built in the Brameast community. This school will provide enrolment relief to Beryl Ford P.S. and Castlemore P.S. and better balance enrolments.
The following tables indicate the projected enrolment and organization as of September 2015.

French Immersion - New Centres, Boundary Changes, Grade Re-organization, Grade 1 Class Caps and Maps
The following new French Immersion (F.I.) centres are recommended for implementation effective September, 2015.
1. New Centres
a) Brameast # 6 P.S. (Grades 1 - 8) b) Champlain Trail P.S. (Grades 1 - 5) c) Nahani Way P.S. (Grades 1 - 5) d) Credit Valley Sub Area 5 # 1 P.S. (Grades 1 - 8) e) Riverside P.S. (Grades 1 - 5) f) Homelands Sr. P.S. (Grades 6-8)
Background
Six new French Immersion centres are recommended to be implemented effective September 2015. This will relieve accommodation pressure at existing centres. The new centres will become part of the F.I. information meetings scheduled for November 20, 2014. A comprehensive communication plan will notify the public of the F.i. parent information meetings for both existing and new F.I. centres.
Criteria for establishment of new F.I. program locations:
o better balancing of enrolments between F.I. and regular program enrolments within dual-track schools (recommended 60/40 split between the programs)
o establishment of new programs with a minimum of two Grade 1 classes to ensure viable classes at the junior grades (preference is for three classes)
o provide accommodation relief for current F.I. centres o efficient and effective use of existing space in neighbouring schools o align F.I. boundaries with regular program boundaries, wherever possible
Advantages:
o F.I. students are closer to their own resident communities
o greater numbers of students are able to walk to their F.I. school o better balance between F.I. and regular program enrolments o less disruption to existing programs as new programs are phased in over multiple years o better use of existing space o alignment of regular program and F.I. boundaries.
