Dear Members of St. Johns I want to thank everyone for the cards and visits I have received since I have moved to Park View Haven in Coleridge. I miss seeing everyone so I really enjoy hearing from you!
Your friend, Bob Strivens
ATTENTION GRADUATES Are you preparing to graduate from high
school or college? We would like to celebrate with you at our 8:30 AM worship
service on May 17. Following worship, there will be a reception in the Fellowship
Hall. You are all invited to join us and share your plans for the future. Bring a
friend to worship and celebrate with you. Bring a senior picture to the church office
(we can scan it in seconds) or email a picture of yourself to
[email protected]. Watch for more information!
The Garden Clubs next clean-up day is Wednesday, May 6, @ 5pm. We will continue planting as needed and make decisions on new pots for the
front doors. Gardeners are welcome and can come when it fits into their schedule earlier or later. If you have questions, please contact Diane Sobotka @ 402-841-0181 or email [email protected]. Everyone is invited to help!
Teach a person to sew and youve
given them tools they can use to earn
an income, support their family, and
break out of poverty. Many of the
thousands of Fabric Kits Lutheran
World Relief distributes are used in
vocational training programs to teach
young men and women useful and
marketable sewing skills.
During the months of April and May, we
will be collecting Fabric (Sewing) Kits for
Lutheran World Relief. Watch for the
washtub in the west hallway to pick up an
information sheet and/or leave your
completed kits.

will be able to help with the Fellowship Hall Kitchen clean-up @ 9am! Everyone welcome and bring your tool of choice.
Please lift up Aline Skogstoe in your prayers as she has been offered and accepted a YAGM (Young Adults in Global Mission) position in the United Kingdom. After several interviews in Chicago, she will return a final time on August 19 for orientation before flying to the UK on August 26. From a field of 254 applicants, 79 were accepted and 14 assigned to the UK.
A year of service through the Young Adults in Global Mission program invites young adults to become the hands and feet of Jesus in the world, providing critical support to ministries and projects in communities of need. It also invites volunteers into a journey of self-reflection, providing space to consider their sense of identity, Gods work in the world, and their place within it all.
Watch for information about a sending service later this summer.
Thank you so much to Pastor Justin and all
members of St Johns who either worked
and/or attended the Ham Dinner this
past Sunday. Approximately $2500 was
raised for the Mennonite Disaster Fund.
Thank you for the contributions. Without
all the support and effort this would not
have been possible.

http://www.caroljoyholling.org/http://caroljoyholling.org/WELCA will again be collecting Campbell Soup Labels and Box Tops for Education to donate to Mosaic. These programs enable the special education program, which has 25 students, to receive
free educational equipment and learning materials for their classrooms. To support these projects, interested people need only to save and send box tops and Campbell soup UPC labels. We are always very grateful for the support of caring people who have given so freely of their time and talents to help Mosaic at Bethphage Village provide quality lives for those who live in our community. Look for the green basket in the west hallway to drop your labels. Thank you for your contributions!
