The review of The Odyssey by Homer displays several of the themes in the novel, but most
importantly, illustrates the heros journey. The heros journey is an important element inLe
Grand Meaulnes.
One of the most important ideas of Le Grand Meaulnes is that of the heros journey. This
process is reflected by the journey of Augustin Meaulnes in the novel. They are almost a mirror
image of each other. The review of The Odyssey provides further insight into the themes of Le
Grand Meaulnes

The girl at the Grand Palais by The Economist is essentially a biography of the author ofLe
Grand Meaulnes, Henri Alain-Fournier. In addition, it explains in great detail the inspiration in
Fourniers life for writing the novel. Furthermore, it also provides a brief summary of the novel.
The biography of Alain-Fournier is a very well-written and comprehensive account of his life and
his many adventures. It encompasses all aspects of his life. This makes it useful for anyone

wishing to learn more about him. But on another hand, literary scholars will find the biography
very useful because it describes in great detail Fourniers inspiration for writing the novel, which
mirrored events that happened to him in his own life. Also, the article provides some context by
giving a short summary of the novel itself, which helps to explain the reasons why Fournier
wrote the novel.

The biography of Henri Alain-Fournier is simple and brief. It does summarize the main points of
Fourniers life, but only very generally.
This biography is rather unbecoming of a publisher like Penguin Books Ltd. It is very, almost
lazily brief. It offers next to no information on Fourniers life, and gives no explanation for his
reasoning behind Le Grand Meaulnes. It has little information anyone can use.

This review of The Hunger Games provides a broad overview of the major themes of The Hunger
Games. This is relevant to Le Grand Meaulnes because it shares a major theme with it:
unrequited young love.
This review is comprehensive and has good depth, and has good insight into the themes of The
Hunger Games. Its claims are clear, sophisticated, and insightful, which makes it useful for
anyone.

Stephen Policoffsarticle offers a very positive and resounding review of the novel Le Grand
Meaulnes by Henri Alain-Fournier. While admitting that it does contain many literary clichs
surrounding the heros journey, Policoffpraises the way that they were used to create a
haunting and intriguing story. Furthermore, he supports his argument by using his own personal
anecdote describing how his life mirrored that of the characters in the book.
The review of Le Grand Meaulnes by Stephen Policoff is complete and inspiring. While not
giving too many details, it hints at the brilliance of the novel in the best way possible: through
telling how it affected him personally. In this case, the impact was large in magnitude. This
review is comprehensive and effective at preaching the novels greatness for any reader.

them wanting more. While this summary is the highlight of the article, there is also a brief analysis
accurately describing the main themes of the novel; for a reader like a literary scholar. The author also
includes a short yet insightful review of the book, giving high praise for the author of the novels literary
competence. Therefore, the article provides good information on the book.
