e Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, addressed States/UTs and multi stakeholders in Lucknow during the “Transforming Urban Landscape,” National Conference on July 28th 2018. e event marked the third anniversary celebrations of the flagship Missions, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban); Atal Mission for Rejuvenation of Urban Transformation (AMRUT); and the Smart Cities Mission of the Government of India. Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said that Urban Administrators present in the gathering, are representatives of the cities that symbolize the hopes and aspirations of New India, and the new generation. He further stated that the Government aims to provide Housing for All by 2022. Giving statistics, the Prime Minister explained how a lot of efforts and work has been done in this direction. He said that all houses under PMAY(U) have a toilet and electricity connection. He emphasised that these houses are a symbol of women empowerment, as they are registered in the name of women. e Prime Minister had also released funds through Direct Beneficiary Transfer via video link to PMAY(U) beneficiaries from different cities of Uttar Pradesh. During the event the Prime Minister visited the exhibition of the Urban Missions. e Prime Minister had keenly viewed the displays and live demonstrations of the various Missions. He remarked that the momentum in which the schemes are working clearly indicated the various schemes have amalgamated to benefit the urban citizen. e Prime Minister had also interacted with 35 beneficiaries of PMAY (U) representing each State and UT. During the visit to the exhibition the Prime Minister viewed the Housing models showcased by State Governments like Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamilnadu, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh & Telangana. He also interacted with the daughter of a beneficiary from Tripura wherein she had expressed happiness on the changes that PMAY (U) housing brought in her family. The PMAY (U) beneficiaries, would have never imagined that availing a Government scheme would one day give them the opportunity to interact with none other than the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India!

The dream come true for PMAY(U) women beneficiaries during the third anniversary of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) organised on July 27th – 28th at Lucknow, has not just provided a platform for them to share their experience on a national forum as how far their lives have transformed after availing the scheme but it also pitched a way to establish direct communication with Hon’ble PM, Shri Narendra Modi which they will cherish as a lifetime memory .

Beneficiaries extended their gratitude towards the PM for giving priority to the underprivileged people by introducing a number of schemes. The event witnessed the participation of PMAY beneficiaries from 29 States and 7 Union Territories (UTs). The PM was impressed with the confidence level of the beneficiaries during the event.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi released the Compendium on Success Stories of Women empowerment under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), during the event “Transforming Urban Landscape: Third Anniversary of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh on July 28, 2018.

The book on Transforming Urban Landscape – Empowering Women through PMAY (U)” is a representation of stories of women from across the country who have experienced the joy of ownership, good health, and a sense of pride in living in a dream home of their own.

The book has finely narrated the stories of women from different walks of life. It has encapsulated their journeys and has re-counted the emotions that come with the pride of owning a house.

During the event on 27th-28th July 2018, simultaneously, panel discussions

were organised for the three flagship missions. The PMAY (U) panel

discussions were held in PLUTO hall. The two day sessions were chaired

and moderated by various Dignitaries. The multi stakeholders participated

across the states. States such as Madhya Pradesh, Tripura, Bihar, Karnataka,

Haryana, Telangana, Maharashtra, Delhi, Gujarat, Odisha, Jharkhand,

Kerela, Uttrakhand, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, Andhra Pradesh,

Tamilnadu, Gujarat, Punjab and Assam Participated as presenters.

The Panel discussions included 6 main sessions. The Day 1 sessions were

on (i)Harnessing Housing under Beneficiary Led Construction, (ii) Affordable

Housing in Partnership (AHP) tying up Infrastructure, smart systems,

connectivity and livelihood, (iii) Improving liveability through In – Situ Slum

Redevelopment (ISSR) & (iv) Innovations in successful Implementation.

Day 2 breakout sessions were on (v) Housing & Technology which included

Emerging technologies, Innovations and Global Housing technology

challenge. The last session was on Leap Frogging in CLSS deliberated on

Beneficiary education and outreach strategy.

The discussions included presentations and videos. It was very enriching,

sharing best practices and cross learning experience.

Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs recognized the performing Primary Lending Institutions (PLIs) for their efforts in augmenting the offtake under the Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) component of PMAY (U).

On the occasion of 3rd year anniversary celebrations of PMAY (U) the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi awarded the Top Performers PLIs on the basis of maximum no. of new loan accounts for 2017-18 (April 01 2017 to March 31 2018).

The top performing PLIs were:• HDFC Bank (Under EWS/LIG category )• State Bank of India (Under MIG Category)

The below PLIs received the award from Hon’ble Minister of State (I/C), MoHUA, Shri Hardeep S. Puri at the inaugural function on 27th July. Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd.

The 2nd Position PLIs were:• India Infoline Housing Finance Ltd (IIHFL)- (Under EWS/LIG category)• HDFC Bank (Under MIG Category)

The 3rd Position PLIs were:• ICICI Bank (Under EWS/LIG category)• Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Ltd. (Under MIG Category)

Housing Models of States

AHP Project of 4800 DUs at Nellore with Monolithic Concrete Construction Technologies including all infrastructural facilities such as STP/PHC/ Community Hall etc.

AHP Project comprising 5088 DUs with all infrastructural facilities such as Rain Water Harvesting, STP, Solid Waste Management. The Project has a mix of MIG/LIG so as to give feeling of social inclusion.

Display of BLC projects having convergence with NULM/AMRUT/SNM & other important Urban and Social Schemes of Government of India. Total DUs constructed 7739 at Namkum, Ranchi.

It is ISSR Project at Lakshminagar, Ahmedabad of 609 EWS houses & all infrastructural facilities. The residents are given DUs free of cost through innovative PPP model.

A first of its kind AHP project using Precast Concrete Construction System (Emerging Technology) at Naya Raipur. Total DUs = 7688.

1442 EWS DUs using Monolithic Concrete Construction Technology under AHP vertical at Pimpri Chinchwad with all infrastructural facilities.

AHP Project at Kancheepuram, comprising of 2112 EWS units using Monolithic Concrete Construction Technology with all infrastructural facilities such as Shops/Rain Water Harvesting, etc.

Dignity Housing through AHP at Ahmedguda, having 4428 EWS units. Housing is given free of cost with all physical & social infrastructural facilities.

36 DUs in Nellore using GFRG Panel System

First of its kind AHP Project at Solapur, comprising of 30,000 DUs using Monolithic Concrete Construction Technology.

Display of BLC typical house at Bakshi Ka Talab, comprising of 926 DUs. The houses are constructed by beneficiaries under supervision of SUDA Team.

32 DUs in Hyderabad, using Light Gauge Steel Frame System and Monolithic construction with structural stay-in-place CR steel formwork system
