OUR MISSION STATEMENT

Page 3: ANNIKA Foundation 2011 Annual Report

Dear Friends and Supporters:

The ANNIKA Foundation made tremendous progress during our second full year of operation. In the following pages, I’m proud to highlight many of our accomplishments, and I want to sincerely thank each of you for the important role you play in our success and growth.

Our signature junior girls’ golf tournament – the ANNIKA Invitational – is quickly becoming one of the world’s top junior girls’ events. In 2011, we are expanding this event format beyond the U.S.; we will launch the first junior girls-only event in China, at Mission Hills, in August.

Our partnership with SPARK, the leading physical education program for children, continues and the program has grown to include approximately 400 schools across Florida and Arkansas. More than 369,000 kids in these schools have begun to learn the importance of living a healthy, active lifestyle, and we have big plans to positively impact thousands more in coming years.

Working closely with The First Tee and Florida Hospital for Children, we developed Nine Healthy Habits, an innovative new health and wellness program for children and their families. You will hear a lot more about this exciting project in coming months, and you can see the framework for Nine Healthy Habits on page 6.

We crowned our first ANNIKA Inspiration Award winner in 2010. Caitlin Baker is a very special young woman and competitive swimmer from Norman, Oklahoma. We hope you enjoy her inspirational story.

And finally, I want to give you a sneak preview of my biggest dream – the ANNIKA Children’s Wellness Center – where one day we will teach the best practices of fitness and nutrition to children and their families from Central Florida, as well as those who visit Orlando from across the country and around the world!

Thank you again for your wonderful support and for sharing my passion!

OUR QUALITY PHYSICAL EDUCATION PARTNER

Page 5: ANNIKA Foundation 2011 Annual Report

Annika meets with middle school physical educators during their SPARK training at Legendary Middle School in Orlando.

After learning more about SPARK, I became committed to bringing their curriculum and teacher training to my PE specialists in Miami-Dade County Public Schools. After I did, I was amazed to see that when we implemented SPARK, statistical analysis revealed that students were active 75 percent of their class time. Additionally, the teachers raved about the SPARK training sessions and how much they learned – and are obviously applying.

Dr. Jayne Greenberg – Executive Director of Physical EducationMiami-Dade Schools – Miami, Fla.

This is the only program I’ve seen that can help students be successful with PE activities. Everyone can enjoy it no matter what their level of coordination or bodily condition!

Jill Seaman – San Diego County Offi ce of Education – Campo, Calif.

I have been teaching over 30 years and this is by far the most valuable, engaging, physical education program I have ever experienced.

Irma Balzen – Physical EducatorJason M. Dahl School – San Jose, Calif.

We have been extremely proud of our partnership with Annika and the ANNIKA Foundation over the past two years. Annika has been a great national spokesperson for SPARK and her personal passion for helping children lead healthier and more active lives perfectly matches our mission as an organization. We’re looking forward to many more years of inspiring children to develop healthy behaviors, and consequently, helping them achieve longer and more successful lives.

Paul Rosengard – Executive Director, SPARK Programs San Diego, Calif.

OTHER KEY INITIATIVES

Last October, the inaugural ANNIKA Inspiration Award was presented to Caitlin Baker, a competitive swimmer from Norman, Oklahoma. Caitlin, now 17, started an outreach program to promote swimming, sports participation and healthy lifestyles to Native American youth who are prone to high instances of diabetes. Caitlin, a swimmer since the age of 8 and nationally ranked since age 11, is a member of the Muscogee Creek Tribe and, through her own foundation, created CAITLINB – which stands for Competitive American Indians Turning Lifestyles into New Beginnings. Caitlin travels across the country to talk with Native American youth and shares her message on the importance of living a healthy, active lifestyle to combat the high incidence of diabetes. Caitlin has given back so much in her young life, including testifying for her cause on Capitol Hill and swimming 1.5 miles in the icy waters from Alcatraz to San Francisco to raise money for her foundation. We invite you to visit her website and learn more about this inspiring young woman!

The ANNIKA Cup, played since 2007, is an annual match play competition for 12 of the top amateur girls in Sweden, where two teams of six girls each come together to enjoy four days

full of golf, education and camaraderie with Annika.

The objective of ANNIKA Team is to give promising young girls access to Annika and her personal team to help guide the start of their professional careers. Annika contributes her knowledge, team of coaches,

PROVIDING GOLF OPPORTUNITIES

ANNIKA Collegiate Golf Experience

Each year Annika and the Swedish Golf Federation select two successful Swedish junior golfers (one girl, one boy) to travel to the United States to visit top universities, attend a PGA Tour or LPGA event

and work on their golf games with Annika.

ANNIKA Junior Girls Scholarship

Annika and her home club, Bro Balsta, near Stockholm, Sweden, created the ANNIKA Junior Girls Scholarship in 1996 to provide an annual

scholarship to a Swedish junior who best exemplifi es Annika’s integrity, principles and character.

Each year the ANNIKA Foundation invites 80-100 juniors from the Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida and the Orlando Minority Youth Golf Association to participate in ANNIKA Junior Day in Memory of Holly Baxter, a loving mother and golfer who passed away of brain cancer in 2007. Through generous gifts from the Baxter family and the Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation, underserved kids get to spend a day at the ANNIKA Academy to learn about the fundamentals of golf and the importance of proper fi tness and nutrition.

Every shot counts and every day is an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young people. Sarah Schmelzel, a 17-year-old from Phoenix who played in the 2011 ANNIKA Invitational, has a

special connection with Annika. In 2001, on the day Annika shot her historic 59 at Moon Valley, Annika rolled her ball to Sarah, then 6, after making birdie on the 12th hole. Sarah was inspired.
