Annie leibovitz

Portrait photographer Annie Leibovitz was born October 2, 1949, in Waterbury, Connecticut. In 1970 she took a job at Rolling Stone magazine. In 1983 she began working for the entertainment magazine Vanity Fair. During the late 1980s, Leibovitz started to work on a number of high-profile advertising campaigns. From the 1990s to the present, she has been publishing and exhibiting her work.

David bailyDavid Royston Bailey, (born 2 January 1938) is regarded as one of the best British photographers. Born in East London, he became a photographic assistant at the John French studio, then photographer for John Cole's Studio Five before being contracted as a fashion photographer for British Vogue magazine in 1960. Along with Terence Donovan and Brian Duffy, he captured and helped create the of the 1960s. In 2012, the BBC made a film of the story of his 1962 New York photo-shoot with Jean Shrimpton.

He failed to pass the written theory paper necessary to become a photographer in the RAF, and so spent his service in the darkroom.In 1959, a photograph he took of a local London gang was published in The Observer. Between 1966 and 1984, he worked as an overseas correspondent for the Sunday Times Magazine, recording ecological and man-made catastrophes such as war-zones.

His career, which began in 1959, has specialised in examining the underside of society, and his photographs have depicted the unemployed, downtrodden and the impoverished.

Avedon was born in New York City, to a Jewish family. He was the son of Jacob Israel Avedon, a Russian-born immigrant who started a successful retail dress business on Fifth Avenue, and his wife Anna, who came from a family that owned a dress manufacturing business. He attended DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx, where he worked on the school paper The Magpie with James Baldwin from 1937 until 1940.
