LOUIS’ CALL FOR WILD BLUE Refreshing Blueberry Lager Now Available Following Success at Local Beer Festival ST. LOUIS (Jan. 7, 2008) – Anheuser-Busch is bringing its wildly refreshing blueberry lager – Wild Blue – to St. Louis beer drinkers. Already a popular regional beer for Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin residents, the company will sell Wild Blue in its hometown after sell-out crowds raved about the beer at the recent St. Louis Brewers Heritage Festival. As “Beer Capital USA,” the city has deep roots in brewing history and a community passionate about its beer, making St. Louis the ideal place to enjoy this unique, craft-style beer. With its striking burgundy color and the taste of nature’s perfect fruit, Wild Blue is available beginning today in select grocery and convenience stores throughout the city. “When we saw adults lined up to taste our blueberry lager at the Brewers Heritage Festival, even if it meant waiting five or 10 minutes to fill their glasses, we knew this was the perfect place to bring this beer next,” said Jeff Pierson, innovation manager, Wild Blue. “St. Louisans know good beer, and we hope they’re as excited as we are to have our great- tasting blueberry beer available for taking to parties and enjoying with friends.” Wild Blue’s fun, irreverent spirit is conveyed in every aspect of the beer, from the bottle label that features a bulldog kicking a blueberry, to the taste. Wild Blue is the perfect drink for adults who are thirsting for something new and will be available in 12-ounce amber glass bottles. “Pairing Wild Blue with pork dishes, like pork tenderloin with apricot mustard, really brings out the flavors and aromas in this full-bodied beer. I also enjoy this beer paired with a mixed-green salad with dried fruit” said Jill Vaughn, brewmaster, Anheuser-Busch, Inc. “Wild Blue is such a great match for food because its hint of sweetness is balanced by a finishing tartness that cleanses the palate.” - more -

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ANHEUSER-BUSCH ANSWERS ST. LOUIS’ CALL FOR WILD BLUE

Refreshing Blueberry Lager Now Available Following Success at Local Beer Festival

ST. LOUIS (Jan. 7, 2008) – Anheuser-Busch is bringing its wildly refreshing

blueberry lager – Wild Blue – to St. Louis beer drinkers. Already a popular regional beer for

Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin residents, the company will sell Wild Blue in its hometown

after sell-out crowds raved about the beer at the recent St. Louis Brewers Heritage Festival.

As “Beer Capital USA,” the city has deep roots in brewing history and a community

passionate about its beer, making St. Louis the ideal place to enjoy this unique, craft-style

beer. With its striking burgundy color and the taste of nature’s perfect fruit, Wild Blue is

available beginning today in select grocery and convenience stores throughout the city.

“When we saw adults lined up to taste our blueberry lager at the Brewers Heritage

Festival, even if it meant waiting five or 10 minutes to fill their glasses, we knew this was the

perfect place to bring this beer next,” said Jeff Pierson, innovation manager, Wild Blue.

“St. Louisans know good beer, and we hope they’re as excited as we are to have our great-

tasting blueberry beer available for taking to parties and enjoying with friends.”

Wild Blue’s fun, irreverent spirit is conveyed in every aspect of the beer, from the

bottle label that features a bulldog kicking a blueberry, to the taste. Wild Blue is the perfect

drink for adults who are thirsting for something new and will be available in

12-ounce amber glass bottles.

“Pairing Wild Blue with pork dishes, like pork tenderloin with apricot mustard, really

brings out the flavors and aromas in this full-bodied beer. I also enjoy this beer paired with a

mixed-green salad with dried fruit” said Jill Vaughn, brewmaster, Anheuser-Busch, Inc.

“Wild Blue is such a great match for food because its hint of sweetness is balanced by a

finishing tartness that cleanses the palate.”

Wild Blue Page Two

Crafted for beer enthusiasts, Wild Blue is brewed with a complex blend of two- and

six-row barley malt, classic Aroma Hops from the Willamette Valley in the Pacific

Northwest and German hops from the Hallertau region in Bavaria. It is blended with the

flavor of blueberries, giving the beer a balanced blueberry flavor and pleasant aroma. Wild

Blue contains 8 percent alcohol by volume and is best enjoyed in a tulip-shaped glass to fully

note the wonderful aroma which is reminiscent of fresh ripe blueberries and observe its

beautiful color with a slight pink head of foam.

Craft beer enthusiasts have also given Wild Blue their stamp of approval with a gold

medal in the fruit beer category at the 2006 North American Beer Awards, a competition that

recognizes top beers in their styles categories.

Wild Blue was created by Blue Dawg Brewing, a group within Anheuser-Busch, Inc.,

responsible for the beer’s marketing, selling and advertising.

Based in St. Louis, Anheuser Busch is the leading American brewer, holding a 48.4

percent share of U.S. beer sales. The company brews the world’s largest-selling beers,

Budweiser and Bud Light. Anheuser Busch also owns a 50 percent share in Grupo Modelo,

Mexico’s leading brewer, and a 27 percent share in China brewer Tsingtao, whose namesake

beer brand is the country’s best-selling premium beer. Anheuser-Busch ranked No. 1 among

beverage companies in FORTUNE Magazine’s Most Admired U.S. and Global Companies

lists in 2007. Anheuser Busch is one of the largest theme park operators in the United States,

is a major manufacturer of aluminum cans and one of the world’s largest recyclers of

aluminum cans. For more information, visit www.anheuser-busch.com.
