    BrochureDescription: A two-sided (duplex) folded brochure.Date:July 12, 2014

    Course/Instructor:Comm 130 Section 1

    Cory Kerr Programs/Tools Used:Adobe InDesign/Adobe Illustrator/Adobe Photoshop

Objectives:-Create an original company logo and use it in a brochure-Set up and align a 2-sided folded document

Process: I started out in Adobe Illustrator to create my logo. I typed out thetitle, Student Honor and bolded the wordHonor. Next, I typed of ce a little bit smaller and put it under -neath. I started out with just the two green lines on my logo. Lat-er, I added the circles around it. In InDesign, I opened up a newdocument and put my rulers where I wanted my folds to be on mybrochure. I put my logo on the document. Next, I added just reg-ular rectangular boxes (the charcoal & the lime green ones) thenI used the white arrow tool to manipulate the shape and add thediagonal effect to it. For the pictures that were circle-shaped I usedthe ellipse frame tool in InDesign and then placed (CMD+D) the

images in each. For the image on the front, I used Photoshop toremove the background of the image. For the image on the backof the brochure, I used the Lasso tools and then made a mask outof it to get rid of the background. I placed that photo onto InDe-sign and used the text wrap option to wrap my text around thealpha channel of the image.

Objectives:-Learn to blend two or more images together gradually, usingmasks-Use mask to apply a lter to one part of the image

Process: I cropped the background image to 8.511, then I moved imageof President Clark onto the background layer. I created a mask andmasked the background of the photo with 100% opacity and blackpaint. I then changed the opacity to about 30% and made hischest down more transparent. I moved the image to where it wasrelevant on the background. I then added a square white box andmade a mask of that as well. I also used a lower opacity to make ittransparent and added text. I matched the color of the text to thebark in the image. I then also used the clone stamp tool for a few

different things. I removed an orange power cord that was show-ing, a gray light box, a person in the background, and I also addedmore tulips to the photo.
