  • MUSICIAN HOUSEconcept for canal house in amsterdamAmsterdam academy of

    architecture

Musician house(s) is the concept for new canal house in the old historical part of Amsterdam Herngracht canal. The project is designed as a temporary kind of living for young musicians. Most of them are new in the city and pret-ty often in the country. They need a quite place where they can feel like at home and focus on the practising the music. Therefore main inspiration for this project was a suburban area with cozy, homely atmosphere.I tried to mimics this feeling in musician house(s).The buidling has two main levels. First one on the grand floor is the space where musicians can practise the music. Second one - housing level is located on the first and the second floor and constains 9 small houses and green roof terraces. The layout of the building is created to provide nice view of the canal or the typical canal houses garden for everyone. Main entrence from canals side is connected with collec-tive space which contains piano room, which can be open for spacial ocassion like Kings Day and rest room with abeautiful view for Herengracht canal.

  • The main aim of this project was to create an appropriate setting for the Art Literature in the library of Stara Rzenia (The Old Abattoir House) in Poznan, Poland.Users of modern devices, such as computer screens, tablets and mobile phones are subjected to factors which disturb their focus. I wanted to create a special space that young people would glace where they would be encouraged to read traditional books. The interior consists of a cafe, cloackroom and W. C. which was created as a new-build. This space was design as a buffer area, where visitors, coming from the noisy streets of big city, could relax in quiet atmosphere before entering to the library. This area was created to give visitors the opportunity to enjoy refreshments from the coffee bar without the necessity to go any further into the building. The original interior of the building boasts an interesting design. For this reason I have made an adaptation using materials and elements that will preserve its character. The new-builds simplicity compliments the surrounding historical architecture.

  • WATER RIBBON

Water Ribbon is a recreational pavilion that is designed to provide people with a place to relax by the water and far away from the city rush. The inspiration for this project was a jetty, the type that could be often found on a lake. The central part of the pavilion is designed as a space where people can enjoy the water. Visitors would be able to swim and take a bath or shower here. From the terrace they could observe and delight in the surrounding nature as the building is completely open on one side. The main architectural foundation is composed off two ribbons - the first acts as a frame, creating fundamental form. The second, smaller one, separates the leisure part of the building from restroom facilities. In order to emphasize this unique arrangement I used two different types of exotic wood: bangkirai and cumaru. These kinds of timber are very strong, durable and have weather-resistant properties which makes them well suited for outdoor use. The overall feel of the interior should be informal. It should be a place where people come to unwind and destress.

  • WEEKEND HOUSE

Weekend House is a three bedroom bungalow that I have designed to be used as a family home. It is located in a small village, about 30 km east of the city of Pozna, called Zotniczki. The dynamic shape of the house is a result of an analysis of the lengthened plot and the natural influences of its setting (water, forest and a hilly topography). Its form is unusual and features a lot of dynamic, diagonal lines - some might even say that it resembles a yacht. Outside visitors can taken beautiful views from the terraces and observation deck which is located on the roof. The bungalow is open planned, with the living room, dinning room, kitchen and staircase being situated in the main room. The bedrooms, bathroom and utility rooms are arranged in the second section of the building. My vision here was to create a large open space for the adults and their guests to enjoy their time, without disturbing the younger members of the family, who may require calmer and more traditional sleeping spaces.

The house is fully-equipped with all the home comforts and features that a four person family could require in order to live comfortably. The fact that there is both heating and air-conditioning means that the building could be unhabited all-year round. Its interior showcases large, glass surfaces which allow sunlight to flow through every room. What is more the floor to celling windows and skylights allow the inhabitants to admire the view of the lake, the forest and the sky. The finishing materials that are used in Weekend House compliment the surrounding nature seamlessly. The interior colour palette is rather subdued as predominantly neutral whites, beiges and greys are used.As a contrast, and to add some energy to the neutral dcor I have added some splashes of bright colour (oranges and reds) in the form of furniture.hhh

  • SPA IN THE LANDSCAPE

Spa in the landscape is a spatial project which could be realized in a city. It is aimed at transforming existing places which need revitalization. The project consist of irregular glass objects based on trapezium. They are various height, but at least two meters, because these should have to cover human. By using glass with various transparency and reflecting surfaces reaches to infiltration a real and unreal world. I used random arrangement of the objects to intensify surprise effect. Everybody who goes past The Spa involuntarily takes part in a game. The rules are very simple. Walk past and look around. Instantly you get the impression that you are in a kaleidoscope. This picture shows where the project could be situated. It is Wroclawska, a street in central Pozna, one of the most crowded and busiest place in this city.
