Thomas and his family live below the poverty level. They do not have their basic needs met. Thereare many gangs in their neighbourhood that are involved in many illegal activities. If one becowesa member of a gang they would have enough funds to take care of themselves and their families.Thomas' brother has been encouraging him to join one of the gangs. Thomas knows that thisis wrong; this goes against everything that he believes. Additionally, to become a member of agang he has to be initiated.
