Ancon’s origins date back to 1882 when ‘George Clark’ was founded in Sheffield,England. The Ancon name came from ‘Ancon Stainless Steel Fixings’, which wasfounded in 1971 and merged with George Clark in 1993.
The company’s 72,000ft2 head office and main manufacturing site is still located inthe city of Sheffield, world renowned as the traditional centre of the stainless steelindustry. Today, Ancon has 350 employees at three UK manufacturing sites andeight overseas operations located in Australia, United Arab Emirates, Germany,Switzerland and Austria.
Ancon’s UK sites are capable of producing a high volume ofstandard products on very short lead times, and bespokeproducts specifically engineered to meet individual projectrequirements.
On a daily basis, Ancon’s technical staff liaise with projectteams throughout the world, advising on the most cost-effective and practical construction solutions.

Ancon Individual Brackets are ideal for thesupport of soldier courses, or brickwork whichis either curved on plan or arched.

Wall Ties & Other Restraint FixingsAncon manufactures wall ties in a variety oflengths and types for restraining brick, blockand stone. These restraints can be designed tofix to concrete and structural steel as well asany type of masonry.
The standard wall tie range includes solutionsfor traditional brick-to-block, thin-jointblockwork, cellular clay blockwork, timber frameand light steel studding. Many products,including those from the Staifix range, can bedelivered in 24 hours and are held in stock bydistributors.
The range also includes TeploTie basalt fibrewall ties, warm roof batten fixings and productsfor remedial work including a crack stitching kit.

DSD Shear Load Connector
The range includes a unique ‘Lockable Dowel’designed for use at temporary movement jointsin post-tensioned concrete frames.
Punching Shear Reinforcement Ancon Shearfix consists of double-headedstuds welded to flat rails. It is used withina slab to provide additional reinforcementaround columns, protecting the slab fromthe effects of punching shear.Free design software is available.

Accommodating ShearShear Load ConnectorsInstalled at expansion and contraction joints,Ancon shear load connectors are more effectiveat both transferring load and accommodatingmovement than plain dowel bars. Eachconnector is a two-part assembly, comprisinga sleeve and a dowel component. Products areavailable for joints in ground bearing andsuspended slabs. Free design software isavailable.

Reinforcement Continuity SystemsAncon Eazistrip consists of pre-bent barshoused within a galvanised steel casing. Onceinstalled, the protective cover is removed andthe bars are straightened.
Ancon Starter Bars are supplied fixed to anAncon coupler. Once cast in concrete, thecoupler’s end cap is removed and a taperedthread continuation bar is installed with acalibrated torque wrench to complete theconnection.
The latest addition to the range is the Ancon KSThreaded Anchor, which minimises congestionin a wall. Connection to the anchor can bemade with either a Bartec threaded bar or ametric bolt.
Reinforcing Bar CouplersCouplers can be used to replace long bars,simplify design details, reduce rebar congestionand accelerate the speed of construction.The Ancon range includes parallel threaded,tapered threaded and mechanically boltedcouplers.

Thermal BreaksThese systems are used to minimise coldbridging at balcony locations and other placeswhere structural connections pass through thebuilding envelope. Ancon Isolan connectorscomprise duplex stainless steel shearreinforcement and rigid CFC-free polystyreneinsulation and are used at concrete-to-concreteconnections. Thermal breaks for steel-to-steeland steel-to-concrete connections are alsoavailable.
Reinforcing BarAncon supplies stainless steel plain and ribbedbar direct from stock. Bars can be supplied cutto length, bent and threaded to suit anyapplication.
Corner GuardsAncon Corner Guards protect exposed edges ofcolumns and walls in areas of high traffic, suchas car parks and warehouses. Where aestheticsare important, stainless steel corner guards canbe supplied with a satin-polished surface finish.
