The AFT 500 series of foam reagentsprovide cement/concrete with very lowwater uptake. Cementitious foams atdensities as low as one tenth (1/10)that of dense concrete will still maintainlower than 15 % volume water uptakein a 24 hour water immersion test. Thincast at < 1/4" (0.63 cm) can also cureproperly.

The AFT 400 series of foam reagentsprovide cured cement, mortar and con-crete mixes with efficient moisture pen-etration, ideal for roadway repair andtrench fill applications.

Effective density reductionwhile still providing excellentstrength for targetapplications

The AFT-400 foam system provideseffective density reduction of variouscement and concrete mixes while stillretaining the needed strength and otherproperties requirement for the intendedapplications.Effective sound and tempera-ture barriers

Cementitious foams based on the AFT-500 foam system maintains good foamstability and fine foam texture even at anominal density of one fortyth (1/40)that of dense concrete. Such materialswill function as effective sound andtemperature barriers without the firehazards associated typically with manyother insulative foams.

AFT-400 Series Our standardfoam concentrates that provide foamedcement and concrete with excellent early(one day) and 28 day compressivestrengths and high water resistance.Such materials are ideal for load bearingor light load bearing panels, blocks, andbricks.

Foamed cement at densities as low as3 pcf (0.05 gram/cc) with fine cell sizecan be made with AFT-400. Such highlyinsulative, very low density cementitiousfoams with their high R value and non-flammability are ideal core materials aswall and cinder block infills.

AFT-500 Series Our premiumfoam concentrates that provide cementi-tious foam coating with good cured prop-erties at thin sections. It is ideal for vari-ous precast manufacturing processesand cast-in-place applications wherelightweight and high integrity is needed.

Explanation :Autoclaved lightweight concretes (ALCs) typically havemuch higher compressive strength than that of cast-in-place cement and concrete at the same densities, higherstrength allows ALCs be used as load bearing roof andwall panels, construction bricks and blocks, their roomtemperature cast-in-place counterparts are usuallyrestricted to non-load bearing roofdecks and void fills.However, the capital investment for an ALC plant and theenergy consumption for making ALCs are extremelyhigh, and the ALCs are for precast applications only.Allied Foam Tech Corporation, using an extremely inno-vative approach towards aqueous foam technology, hasrevolutionized the precast and cast-in-place applicationsfor foamed cement and concrete. Aqueous foams derivedfrom the AFT technology usually have hours or longer offoam stability after foam generation while foams derivedfrom conventional surfactants or protein start to showfoam collapse within minutes. Foamed cement and con-crete derived from the AFT foam system, unlike the con-ventional room temperature cast materials, have strengthcharacteristics that match quite well with the ALCs (seetable on page 3). Furthermore, the cement and concretefrom the AFT foams have coloring capability, much finerfoam texture and significantly better water resistancethan their ALC counterparts. Foamed cement and con-crete based on the AFT foam technology, because oftheir unique strength and other performance characteris-tics, are suitable for both pre-cast/load-bearing and cast-in-place applications.
