Ruda is a small village. It is 9 km far from Šumperk. Ruda lies near Jeseníky

mountains with the second highest mountain in the Czech Republic. There are

lots of fields, medows and forests round Ruda. Ruda with its surroundings has ideal

conditions for winter skiing – there are many ski slopes all around the region.

In Ruda there are about 2500 inhabitants.

There are a few small shops with shoes or clothes, the swimming pool, the chateau,

the supermarket, the school, etc.

The rivers are dirty. In the rivers there is rubbish.

There aren´t lots of fish in the rivers. We can´t swim in the rivers.

Dirty rivers

If we don´t clean rivers, water will be more and more dirty.Animals will drink dirty water so they can die or our Earth will have global problems. If everybody doesn´t clean rivers, our world will be worse.

What to do?

- don´t throw rubbish into the rivers.

- build a sewage disposal plant and litter bins.

- the police officers can give penalty for contaminating water in the rivers.

If we clean the rivers, lakes and ponds, fish and other animals living near the river will stay alive for next years.

If we do nothing...

Water in the river will be toxic and we will have a rash.

We won´t be able to water plants on the fields by water from the river.

People use coal for heating in their houses very often. Smoke from the

chimneys is very dangerous for people‘s health.It is detrimental for our lungs.

Cars and trucks pollute the air.

This problem is visible mainly in

big towns and cities. But it influences everybody.

People must classify rubbish.

We use special containers for

paper, white and colouredglass, plastic and common

rubbish.

Some people are selfish and throw litters everywhere they want!

Dogs' masters don't clean excrements. It‘s

not a problem for nature, but it can be very

unpleasant surprise when you play outside
