Connect Rj45 (Network) cable in Computer and other end in R36’s LAN port

Install Devices as shown below and then connect 110V AC or 12volt DC Adapter to the

If you cannot reach the setup page, restart the Computer, if you use a Laptop, you may need

to disable Wifi Radio temporarliy.

The configuration window opens, enter admin in both boxes, click OK

Click on "Change Profile" and follow the instructions in pictures.

Important: Do Not select “ALFA_AP”, this is the SSID of your R36 Device!

[Note: If you cannot see any available SSID in site Survey, click on “Rescan” if still

nothing, you may have to verify R36 Firmware, some USB Adapters need other

firmware. Scroll down to: How to Verify and Upgrade Firmware]

Enter the Password (Security Key) in the "pass phrase" box and click "Next"

If you connect to an unprotected network, simply click on Next.

After click Next check box the screen will show Saving…

NOTE: The R36’s default WiFi Network Name (SSID) is “ALFA_AP” and is open

for access to anyone (not password protected)

Any Wireless Device can now connect to ALFA_AP Network and surf on internet.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Optional: You can change settings, like network Name (SSID), default is “ALFA_AP”

or password protect it, as long as you know what you do. See instructions below to

password protect your Own SSID (ALFA_AP)

Enter password in Pass Phrase line and click “Apply”

After setting a password, you will need this password to connect to ALFA_AP

If you cannot connect to a specific SSID in site survey, you may need to change the R36’s

default LAN ip address (192.168.2.1) If the Router you want to connect to uses same LAN

address it may be in IP address conflict.

Here we change LAN to 192.168.20.1 NOTE, if you change the address, you must use this

one to access setup page, you may need to restart computer after changing LAN address.

Change Address here and click “Apply” Router will restart

If your R36 Router does not work with USB Adapter, verify Firmware first!

Step 1:

Connect Adapter to the R36's USB port with USB cable provided. IMPORTANT, you need

to plug in USB Adapter into R36 prior powering up your R36.

Step 2: Power up your R36 and it's recommend to use Ethernet cable to connect

between your PC and R36's LAN port (the one next to power cord). Open your Internet

Explorer and type in http://192.168.2.1 in the address bar then press Enter.

Step 3:

After connecting to the IP address, the web browser will display a loin page. Enter

admin as the default User Name and Password. Then Status page will display after you

have successfully login. Verify Firmware Version

IF you cannot reach the 192.168.2.1 setup page, restart your Computer, keep Network

cable connected. After restart Router should talk to pc and assign ip address. If still not

able to attempt setup page, do a reset on backside of R36 (press red button in small

hole for 10-15 sec, then release and wait until R36 reboots)

For R36 Firmware download : http://www.alfa.com.tw/download.php (If Dropdown

menu do not work with your Browser, use Internet Explorer)

From Drop down menu, select your device as shown in images below

On next page, choose latest Firmware. (If latest firmware does not work, try the
