Proposal

My storyboard is a story that takes place in modern-day society with a young man that has flunked school and any opportunity at life to take care of the one remaining person in his life that he cares about more than anyone else. This young man’s father is holding onto life by a string and he sets out to try and find a way to make money for the treatment that will help his father and make him better. The tail is of this young man struggling against society and the world of the city and where he doesn’t feel that he belongs. Shunned by society and not able enough on paper to even gain a job. This young man falls upon a meteor that has crashed landed on earth, right when he has given up on humanity and even his father. This meteor is in fact a rune stone from an ancient magical race from space that grants the boy untold knowledge and power that is far beyond human understanding. He is issued a warning of the coming destruction of the human race and the planet earth and that he is granted these gifts to help and defend earth and the universe.

The young man then has to face himself and the world is soon come under siege by an alien force that is sweeping over the earth, and destroying everything within its path. But does the human race deserve to be saved? I have decided to do my animation as a trailer, as if it where for a film to be made for the big screen as I personally fined that the way in which a trailer is presented to be more entertaining and gripping than a short video clip. I have been inspired by many films as there references are clear within the storyboard such as, Green Lantern, Thor, Chronicle, Batman and from the anime Dragonball. The idea first came to me when I was thinking of what I really wanted to do and I remembered back in the past when I was 12 years old I used to watch a lot of flash videos that me and my friends loved as they where a stick man being a total badass beating hundreds of other stickmen up. http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/fight3 For the style of which I would like to take this idea into the animation process is that of Dragonball a very Japanese manga style. My aim is to create a compelling and humours animation that contain funny dialog and a dark and sinister feel to it with the use of dramatic scene’s with rain and a dark contrast, with keeping to the art style of Akira Toriyama.
