of buying decisions * Price-driven and hence advocates for port

and air cargo expansions: eg., PortMiami and Port Everglades.

* Generating huge packaging volumes which may or may not be re-cycled, and may create problems[wood pallets]

* Unaware of South Florida reef conditions and looming threats from commerce expansions

shoreline fragility and importance of reefs and beaches

* Have SCM professionals consider impacts of increased container shipping and problematic packaging recyclability on the shoreline environment

* Seek support from SCM community for damage mitigation efforts and reef regeneration projects
