• The control unit (CPU) is placed in the control cabinet and the single cable from the camera to the CPU, a Cat5 cable, is connected to the Camera port on the front of the CPU.

• The cable for either a TS1 or TS2 is connected to the controller.

• Note: The CPU location in this picture was a temporary mounting location during the early stage of this installation, it was later moved.

• Next the GridSmart software is configured with the necessary Zone and Phase information, which is a 20-30 minute process.

• Once this is completed it is just a simple matter of placing the Aldis system in control with a simple execution step within the software.

In Summary:• System set-up configurations are all completed by making adjustments

through the GridSmart software, the always in focus camera requires no adjustment what-so-ever once the camera has been hung.

• The single camera and single cable connection design require less time in the intersection and less impact to traffic due to limited lane closures compared to other video detection systems.

• A complete Aldis GridSmart system can be installed and placed in control of an intersection in 3-4 hours from start to finish.
