• SMALL SCALE ELECTRICITY GENERATION USING BIOMASS
Why…………..?
1. Shortage in Non-Renewable resources.
2. Need of Electricity.3. To reduce global
warming.

Electricity - consumption (billion kWh)
Due to shortage of powerVillages - 12 hrsTowns - 6 hrsCities - 3 hrsBecause of these above cited reasons we have developed this system
Data from AP electricity board
• Biomass, as a renewable energy source, is biological material from living, or recently living organisms. As an energy source, biomass can either be used directly, or converted into other energy products such as biofuel.
• Eg: Garbage, Wood, Wastes etc………
What is Bio-mass……………?
• There are a number of technological options available to make use of a wide variety of biomass types as a renewable energy source. In general these are classified into
1.Thermal conversion.2.Chemical conversion.3. Biochemical conversion.
Conversion of Biomass Energy…
HOW?
1.Biomass stove2.Solar plate3.Pressure cooker4.Stop valve5.Nozzle6.Turbine7.Dynamo8.LED bulb

1. Conversion of Biomass energy into Heat energy.
2. Heat is used to convert water into wet steam with pressure energy.
3. Nozzle converts pressure energy into Kinetic energy.
4. Kinetic energy is used to run turbine attached to dynamo.
5. Dynamo converts rotational energy into Electrical energy.
How it works…………?
Can we watch a video.......
1. Since Biomass energy is renewable its doesn’t lasts.
2. Biomass energy doesn’t cause any harm too environment.
3. Available throughout the world.4. Cheap when compared to other fuels.
Advantages…
1. Efficiency will be low when compared to coal and other fuels.2.Transportation involves complexity.
Disadvantages…
Future aims………….
• 1.Mounting a pressure gauge.• 2.Increase the pressure.• 3.Manufacturing a Turbine.• 4.Calculation of efficiency.• 5. Design for continuous feeding
of fuel.
To become an entrepreneur in this field to serve the people
Biogas and solar are to be attached to this system
ConclusionWith minimum cost of resources electric power to be generated.Biomass is an alternative source(fuel) for future use.Biomass stove can be used even for cooking. This is one of the solutions to over come the power crisis.
