• To work for the establishment and maintenance of fair salaries, reasonable working hours, adequate working conditions and fair personnel policies for AFSCME members .

AFSCME has been long standing in the US because of its strong foundation.

AFSCME follows their constitution which includes:

• Bill of Rights for Union Members• Objectives• Guidelines for Conventions• Executive Board • Judicial Procedures• Election of Officers

They have handbooks for local councils which also addresses procedures on conducting meetings.AFSCME covers any and every detail within the organization and gives members the power to address issues that may arise and a chance to amend their constitution.
