Chelavara Falls A drive of 264 kilometers from Bangalore leads to Chelavara Falls. Your journey will start off from Bangalore to Coorg. Upon arrival at Coorg there is a short trek from Tadiandamol (highest point in Kodagu) till you reach Chelavara Falls. These falls are also known as Embepare by the locals meaning Tortoise Rock. The water fall is really a wonder full view as the water gushes from the top amidst the green coffee plantation. Hogenakkal Water Falls It is one of the most majestic waterfalls lying in Tamil Nadu State of Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri Districts also sharing the border with Karnataka. It is also called as Nisarga Water Falls and Nisarga of India because of its beauty and scenic green mountains. It is located 180.8 kilometers from Bangalore. Kallathi Falls

Kalhatti Falls are located at Kallattipura (kallathigiri) in Chikmagalur district of Karnataka, India. The waterfall is 10 kilometers away from Kemmangundi hill station. It offers an excellent view of the cascading water from the Chandra Drona Hill from 122 meters above in front of the Veerabhadreshwara Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The Veerabhadra temple was built in the Vijayanagar times. The temple has three stone carvings of three elephants at the entrance. Water cascades over these elephants and devotees believe that these waters have the power to cure diseases.

Abbey Falls

Abbey Falls is located in Kodagu, in the Western Ghats in Karnataka. It is situated 8 kilometers away from Madikeri, 268 km from Bangalore and 122 km from Mysore. The river is part of the early reaches of river Kaveri. Flow is a lot stronger during the monsoon season. The waterfall is located between private coffee plantations with stocky coffee bushes and spice estates with trees entwined with pepper vines. A hanging bridge constructed just opposite the falls. There is a Kali Maa temple on one side of the bridge. A path through coffee and cardamom plantations leads to the waterfalls. The roar of the falls can be heard from the road.

Jog Falls, Gerosoppa Falls or Joga Falls is the second-highest plunge waterfall in India located in Sagara taluk in the state of Karnataka. The segmented falls are a major tourist attraction. It is one of the numerous waterfalls of the Western Ghats. This beautiful waterfall is a few kilometers away from Yana. Unchalli Falls

Unchalli Falls, also known as Lushington Falls, is a waterfall created by a 116 meters drop in the Aghanashini river. The fall is located near Siddapur in Uttara Kannada District of Karnataka, India. The falls are named for J. D. Lushington, a District Collector for the British Government, who discovered the falls in 1845. The falls are reached by a 5 kilometer trek from Heggarne through a thick forest. It is a spot located in Siddapura, Taluk of Uttar Kannada district of Karnataka and this fall is at a height of 300 feet which is majestic to view especially in the monsoon and we conduct treks to right at the top of falls and enjoy this enchanting view of the surrounding forest and also have some chance of viewing some wildlife.

Muthyalamaduvu Falls

Also popular by the name of Pearl Valley, Muthyala Madu is a captivating waterfall located at a distance of 45 kms from Bangalore. Visitors need to take the route of Hosur road to Chandrapura and then reach Anekal and take a right turn from Anekal- Thalli road to reach Muthyala Maduvu. The thin jets of water falling down from a height of 90 meters create the illusion of pearls falling down from a height. The water is sourced from the Onakanahalli Tank, located in the vicinity and hence the best time to visit the place is between August and November, as the tank remains full due to the rainy season.


Chunchi Falls

Located at a distance of nearly 90 kms from Bangalore, the Chunchi falls is situated in the Kanakpura Taluku in the rural district of the city. The place is nestled amidst amazing rocky ranges on the Arkavati River, between Mekedatu and Sangama. The water falls from a height of around 50 feet into a calm canal sourcing away from the falls. Mekedatu Falls

Mekedatu, which means Goa ’ leap in the local Kannada language, is a small waterfall located in the rural district of Bangalore. Mekedatu falls is situated around 3.5 kms downstream from the place where the Rivers Arkavati and Kaveri converge. The place is named so because of the narrowness of the deep gorges through which the water gushes out, making it easy for even the goats to leap across them. There is a mythological tale associated with the falls and some people even claim that the footprints seen on the rocks are of divine beings. The best time to visit the place is the post monsoon season from August to January.

Balmuri Edmuri Falls

Located at a distance of 175 kms from Bangalore, the Balmuri Edmuri waterfalls are situated in the district of Mysore. They are actually two falls located within a distance of 500 meters of each other. The falls are just off the road to the Krishna Raja Sagara dam and are situated amidst paddy fields and a small island. The Balmuri fall is a mini cascade resulting from the 6 ft high step protruding from the check dam on River Kaveri. The Edmuri fall is located to the left of the Balmuri and is more suitable for enjoying swimming and other water activities. The best time to visit the place is between March and August.

Chunchanakatte Falls

Situated on River Kaveri, at a distance of around 190 kms from Bangalore in the Krishnaraja Taluk of Mysore District, Chunchanakatte is a natural waterfall. Set amidst lush green environments, the water of River Kaveri gushes down from a height of about 20 meters in two small cascades before they join together at the bottom to flow as one. The sound of the waterfall can be heard far off in the surroundings, except the sanctum sanctorum of the ancient temple of Lord Kodandarama, even though it is located just besides the waterfall. The best time to visit the place is during the months of January and February.


Iruppu Falls

Located at a distance of nearly 260 kms from Bangalore, the Iruppu falls are located in the Virajpet Taluk of Coorg district. Situated in the Brahmgiri range, on the River Lakshmana Tirtha, which is a tributary of River Kveri, the cascade features water falling down the lush green mountains from a height of around 170 feet. According to the legend, the River Lakshmana Tirtha was created, when Lord Rama asked his brother to fetch water for him while searching for his beloved Sita in the region, and the later gave birth to the river by shooting an arrow. The best time to enjoy the mesmerizing beauty of the falls is during the monsoon season.

Located at a distance of around 280 kms from Bangalore, Mallalli falls is set in the beautiful surroundings of Somwarpet town in Coorg district. The Kumaradhara River is the main source for this fall that plunges the water 200 feet in two stages. The waterfall is accessible only by foot and the visitors feel enchanted by the lush green surroundings that enhance the soothing beauty of the place. The best time to visit the place in from July to December when the river remains full brining the beauty of the cascade to its peak. Moreover, the river tends to dry up during the other months.

Located in the Sirsi Taluka of Uttar Kannada district at a distance of 443 kms from Bangalore, Magod falls is the name given to the group of waterfalls formed as a result of the deep plunge of over 200 meters taken by River Bedti. The River falls down into the valley in two steps with the lush green mountains forming a beautiful backdrop to create a truly enchanting site. The huge lake of Kavade Kere, spread over an area of 60 acres is also located in the vicinity of these falls. The best time to visit and enjoy the mesmerizing view of the Magod falls is just after the monsoons.

The Gokak falls are located at a distance of around 534 kms from Bangalore, in the Gokak taluku of Belgaum district. The breathtaking view of the Ghataprabha River taking a 52 meter deep plunge, over a standalone cliff is similar to Niagra falls, though on a much smaller scale. The horseshoe shaped waterfall is set amidst a scenic gorge of rugged valley and has a breadth of around 177 meters. There are several monuments of the Chalukya era situated on either side of the rocky gorge. The best time to visit the falls is from July to October when the ongoing monsoons ensure that the waterfall is in its full swing.

Located in the lush green environments of Kudremukh National Park, the Hanuman Gundi Falls are situated at a distance of 472 kms from Bangalore. The falls are situated quite near the main road connecting Sringeri and Kudremukh. The majestic waterfall features water gushing down from a height of around 100 feet which creates a picturesque view. The waterfall can be approached by more than 300 safe steps constructed by the forest department. Visitors can also enjoy a bath directly under the falling water. The best time to visit the Hanuman Gundi falls is from October to May, when the beauty and majesty of the falls is at its peak.
