1.1. What is Elastix?

Based on Open Source technologies and

imminent supported by a large community

Elastix worldwide is presented as a

Unified Communications software that

characterized by the integration of: VoIP PBX, Fax, Courier

IM, Email, with its classical friendly interface

use.

For more information you can visit the ElastixOfficial site http://www.elastix.org

1.2. Elastix Multi Tenant Edition

This new version of Elastix differs considerably

we used to see in Elastix, as its name implies Multi

Tenant concerning many organizations. Had it

Page 9: Administrator Manual

12/22/2014 Administrator Manual

[7]

define this version of Elastix simply call a

administrator multiple organizations.

But if this version is characterized by these two pillars

fundamental that we describe below:

MultiTenant Support

End User Interface

MultiTenant

As mentioned above can Elastix

manage multiple organizations to be created by

one superadmin, but within each organization there will be a

administrator who will be responsible for managing all

organization, management is independent from

organizations.

Page 8Elastix MTE Manual Manager

End User Interface

Elastix has so far been focused on supplying product

Webbased administrator tools

unified communications server, but not the user

end. Moreover, in most cases the only

contact the user has with his terminal Elastix

phone. Most of them have no idea what it is

Elastix, just know they have a phone that serves to

make calls and that there is "something" that is responsible for

manage their corporate email, among other things.

Page 10: Administrator Manual

12/22/2014 Administrator Manual

https://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_f 10/69

[8]

The idea now is that Elastix also provide tools

useful to the userend, allowing you to manage from a

friendly Web interface all communication needs,

such as instant messaging, social networking, and even

to make a phone call from the Web. Truly

so this interface could be seen as a replacement for

telephone terminal, only with many more features.
