What is No Fly Zone?A permethrin-based technology that helps prevent the spread of insect-bornediseases by repelling insects from the body through clothing, uniforms or gear.

What is Permethrin?A man-made insecticide, effective against multiple speciesof crawling and flying insects, including mosquitoes, ticks, ants,chiggers, flies, and midges.

ApplicationThe patented process is achieved by cross linking permethrinonto fabrics before manufacturing. This binding system providesa uniform application across the fabric and unprecedented durability.

Overall Safety

For the general public, the Centers for Disease Control and Preventionrecommends use of permethrin-treated clothing when travelingto areas where they will be exposed to disease carrying insects.

Product has been registered with the EPA and tested by the United States Military.

Global Threat of Infectious DiseasesInternationally, there is growing concern regarding insect-borne disease.Infectious diseases remain the third leading cause of death in theUnited States each year, and the second leading cause of death worldwide.

For many of these insect-borne diseases there are no vaccinesor therapeutic drugs, and preventative measures are vital fordisease protection.

Performance

In a field trial, persons wearing permethrin-treated uniforms and 35% Deet(on exposed skin) had more than 99% protection (1 bite/hour) over eight hours,even under conditions of intense biting pressures...unprotected personshave received an average of 1188 bites/hour. (1)

DurabilityFabric testing has indicated incredible durability with an 80% retention rateafter 25 home launderings and 70% after 50 home launderings.

This is an all-season weight, 65% polyester/35% cotton fabric manufactured in a ripstop weave. BATTLE RIP isour fabric of choice for the Public Safety community.

NYCO RIPSTOPThis 50% nylon/ 50% cotton ripstop cloth is the fabric of choice for the U.S. Army.NYCO promotes good color integrity and superior durability. (NIR Compliant Fabric).

COTTON/ POLYESTER TWILLThis 60% cotton/ 40% polyester, heavy weight cloth is also a very sturdy and long-lifeperformer in the Public Safety community. Manufactured in a twill weave, this clothpromotes good color integrity and easy care.

100% COTTON RIPSTOPThis is a lighter weight cloth in a ripstop weave that breathes well and is initiallydurable. Consistent with other cotton fabrics, the color will fade quickly, and overtime the cotton fibers will lose their strength under industrial wear and laundering.If color integrity is an important end-user expectation, please do not choose this cloth.
