Polymer science summer employment The ACS Division of Polymer Science employment program, sponsored by the division's Industrial Sponsors Group, provides juniors the opportunity to work in polymer science with one of a select number of U.S.-based companies.
As in 1989, selected candidates will be offered positions with companies throughout the U.S. Participating companies in recent years have included Amoco Chemical, Dow Chemical, Exxon Chemical, Mobay, Nalco Chemical, Phillips Petroleum, Quantum Chemicals, S.C. Johnson, and Tremco. Transportation expenses and monthly salaries will be paid by the sponsoring companies. Some candidates will be sent by Mobay Corp. to West Germany for a work/training assignment in the research laboratories of Bayer A.G., Mobay's parent company. All

Undergraduate summer research scholarships The ACS Division of Polymer Chemistry is offering scholarships of $2000 for research during the summer of 1990 to introduce undergraduates to polymer science. It is the responsibility of the student to arrange for an academic adviser. The adviser and the student will then propose an appropriate research topic in the area of polymer science. Research will be performed at the adviser's institution or an approved alternate site.
The program is financed by the Dow Chemical Co. Foundation, one of the industrial sponsors of the Division of Polymer Chemistry. For application forms and further information, write Judith H.
