Reflections of Life
James Maurice McFadden was born on September 28, 1976 in St. Louis, MO to Lynne (McFadden) Branch
and James Buford Green (who proceeded him in death). In his earlier years, James had the opportunity to
live in Okinawa, Japan and the Philippines due to his step-father military career. Upon returning back to the
states he attended multiple schools in the St. Louis area and graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas- Mercy in
1995. He attended Florissant Valley Community College, Harris-Stowe State College and University of
Arkansas Little Rock where he received his Bachelors of Business Administration. He continued his higher
education at University of Phoenix where he received his M.B.A.
In 2002 James joined the Kappa Psi Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. He served as the AR District
Director 2013- 2017. He served as Chapter President of Pi Lambda Chapter and currently serving as the
Southwestern Region Executive Director and National Seargent-At-Arms.
James has several accomplishments and has been recognized by Buzz Westfall of the St. Louis County
Government Department Human Services County Youth Program, volunteered with National Council of
Leadership, on the Board of March of Dimes and was the Founding Vice President, Member of the Board
Advisors and Dedicated Advocate to the Ora Lee Smith Cancer Research Foundation with Founder Dr.
Hadiyah-Nicole Green, PhD (cousin). He currently worked at Ally Financial- Supervisor Customer Solutions.
James was an ordained minister and served as an Elder under the leadership of Pastor Alphonso L.
Montgomery at Led By the Spirit of God Church.
James cared about the youth, civil rights and social action, economic empowerment, education, science and
technology.
James was a loving husband and father he leaves to cherishes his memory his wife of 16 years to Sherita L.
McFadden and within the union they birth 2 children, Kendall Olivia McFadden (daughter) and James
Maurice McFadden, II aka Deuce. He was very devoted to his family and he leaves behind his grandmother
Shirley McFadden, mother Lynne Branch (Otis), Anthony Austin Sr. (step-father), Barbara A Tindle (mother
in law), 5 sisters Nicole, Ouida, Courtney, Kelly and Valencia, 2 brothers Terrell and Anthony Austin Jr.
(Heather) and a host of aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and colleagues of whom will all miss
him dearly.
