One-stop-shop Global sourcing service for UK equipment operators Pump users in the UK can take advantage of a new service launched by BS Services, which aims to find replacement pumps and spare parts for process machinery, regardless of where in the world the equipment was originally manufactured. Mixers, dispensers and fluid handling equipment that has been imported into the UK often include air-operated diaphragm, rotary, or gear pumps. Operators commonly find locating spare parts for such equipment time con- suming and expensive. Pump identification details are some- times removed or erased in order to restrict customer supply options. Often the user is charged inflated prices for replacement parts, whilst response times and delivery can be poor. Fitting an alternative pump is always an option but in many cases there would also be the expense of modifying the pneu- matic control system and pipe work to ensure that operating performance was maintained. BS Services new ‘one-stop-shop’ service is designed to assist equip- ment operators who find them- selves in such circumstances. Using their international pump trade contacts the company claim they can source identical replace- ment pumps or spares direct from the original pump manufacturer, and in doing so offer the equip- ment user substantial cost savings compared to an importing agent. ABS has introduced the next generation of MF 354-804, MF 565-665, and Piranha 08 pumps. The new models all share a new compact design, which means a smaller sump requirement and shor- ter installation time. The design incorporates a cast iron (GG25), motor housing and volute, oil chamber, stainless steel upper lid, silicon car- bide mechanical seal and polyamide impeller. The MF series is designed for the de-watering of buildings and construction sites, and also for pumping effluent from locations below the backwash level. In addition, therefore, the pumps are suitable for emptying containers of any type, for use in septic tanks, the emptying of flooded cellars, the pumping of rainwater and drainage applications. When intended for use on building sites selected models are available as a VO-version, with screen and hose connections. The Piranha 08 has the same new design features as the MF series but it in- corporates the Piranha cutting system from ABS. The model is therefore best suited for the pumping of domestic sewage. Pump users in the UK can take

commonly find locating spare parts

ABS introduces compact next generation pump*

ABS Pumps has updated three of its models.

ABS has introduced the next

generation of MF 354-804,

MF 565-665, and Piranha

08 pumps. The new models

all share a new compact

design, which means a smaller

sump requirement and shor-

ter installation time. The

design incorporates a cast iron

(GG25), motor housing and

volute, oil chamber, stainless

steel upper lid, silicon car-

bide mechanical seal and

polyamide impeller.

The MF series is designed for

the de-watering of buildings

and construction sites, and also

for pumping effluent from

locations below the backwash

level. In addition, therefore,

the pumps are suitable for

emptying containers of any

type, for use in septic tanks, the

emptying of flooded cellars, the

pumping of rainwater and

drainage applications. When

intended for use on building

sites selected models are

available as a VO-version, with

screen and hose connections.

The Piranha 08 has the

same new design features as

the MF series but it in-

corporates the Piranha cutting

system from ABS. The model

is therefore best suited for

the pumping of domestic

sewage.
