Raleigh Infant School
Raleigh Infant School has close links with the localmilitary bases such as RAF Honington, USAFLakenheath and Mildenhall with family membersaway in places such as Afghanistan and Iraq.
The children at Raleigh were shown somephotographs of a new school that had just beenbuilt in Afghanistan and they could see that thechildren there did not have any school bags orpencils so this year we decided that instead ofhaving a shoebox appeal we would have an appealwith a difference.
We asked the children to donate a school bag withsome stationary in it such as a book and somecolouring pencils. Everyone was very generousincluding our school uniform suppliers Schoolwear, who donated 30 book bags. We managed to sendover 50 book bags each containing an exercisebook, a pack of colouring pencils, rubber and ruler.
