DIMENSIONS

ABLOY® 8164 is a new generation motor lock for wooden and steel doors. It providesthe best possible mechanical strength combined with highly advantageous electric features, i.e. serial communication between lock case and control unit.

APPLICATION

8164 is suitable for exterior doors requiring high security. Typical applications are i.e. doors of commercial buildings, offices and industrial premises.

The lock includes two bolts of which each individually can be electrically controlled.The lock has a double action bolt for quick and easy locking and is therefore especiallywell suited for doors that are frequently used in daytime. The high security dead bolt isideal for night time locking requiring greater strength and security.

FUNCTION

ABLOY® 8164 has three modes of operation which can be chosen remote controlled.

1. Open mode- Dead bolt is withdrawn and double action bolt is not deadlocked.

2. Locked mode- Deadbolt is withdrawn all the time. Double action bolt is out and deadlocked. - After an opening impulse the deadlocking of double action bolt is released. After dooruse or delay double action bolt is deadlocked immediately by spring force through triggerbolt.- Handle use is possible on locked mode only.

3. Security mode- Dead bolt and double action bolt are out and deadlocked.- After an opening impulse dead bolt is withdrawn and the deadlocking ofdouble action bolt is released. After door use or delay double action bolt is deadlockedimmediately by spring force through trigger bolt. Dead bolt is thrown and deadlocked bymotor and/or spring.

FUNCTION

ABLOY® EL580 can be configured to operate either as fail locked or fail unlocked. Theoutside handle can be electrically controlled. In the fail locked configuration the outsi-de handle operates when the power is on, and will not operate when the power is off.In the fail unlocked configuration the outside handle operation is reversed. The insidehandle operates always.

Note: The product must be applied with split spindle (included in the delivery).

ABLOY® EL582 can be configured to operate either as fail unlocked or fail locked. Bothinside and outside handle can be electrically controlled. In the fail locked configurationthe handles operate when power is on, and will not operate when the power is off.In the fail unlocked configuration the operation is reversed.

The locks can always be opened by key or thumbturn.

APPLICATION

EL650 is used as a high security auxiliary lock e.g. in gates and exterior doors ofindustrial premises, shopping centres, business premises etc. The lock is especially suited for use in sliding doors as it can be installed in door frame or door leaf.

EL650 can be installed together with e.g. EL412 (see page 14 & 15), whereby both locksindividually can be electrically controlled. EL412Door can be opened by pushing or pulling when electric control is switched on. When electric control is switched off, lock can be operated by key or thumbturn only.

APPLICATION

The ABLOY lead cover is designed to ensure the unbroken transfer of cable betweendoor and frame.

The maximum diameter of a wire bundle transferable through the lead cover is 7.5 mm.The cable used should consist of several threads for increased bending strength. If theopening angle of door is more than 120° or the distance between pin hinge and doorframe is more than 20 mm, lead cover 8811 must be used.

DRILLING AND FITTING

The lead cover is fitted in the upper part of the door. Before fitting, cable must be passedthrough the flexible tube and the channel drilled through the door. Holes for the cablemust be wide enough to allow some space for the wires to move. An extra long drill bitfor drilling the channel through the door can be obtained from the manufacturer.
