A-Vault Project
EnvironmentThe A-Vault story is set in an hypothetical future where a series of wars
and catastrophes changes the morphology of the planet.
With oil depletion, the underground deposits are empty and bring to the surface physical breakdown. The global warming causes glacier meltdown and consequently all the world coastlines are flooded. The continuing
onslaught of hurricanes, earthquakes and seaquakes erase whole communities and their settlements.
The population of the world is oppressed by the martial government of The Union situated in the building called ‘The Plate’. This is where law and order is created and operated, known as the ‘Code of the Plate’. Central taxes are also collected here and are very high making the goods become
even more rare.
The Union is represented by the U.S. and some countries of Central America. In the past they operated a ‘Star Shield’ and were protected by this
during a global war. They weren’t damaged by the use of N.B.C. Weapons.
Inside the ‘The Plate’ the population knows no war and nothing of the outside. They are in the “Dark ages”. In the fortified cities they are starving and overwhelmingly experience the effects of the global war.
For all the people outside the ‘Star Shield’ life becomes a living nightmare. They are fighting for the last resources to survive in a desert wasteland. The deadly environment is infected by radioactive fallout and infested by dangerous new species of animals and toxic
plants. It is also over-run by Union Soldiers and frequent attacks by raiders.
CharactersThe following characters could be used as n.p.c. in a role playing
videogame or as main characters in an animation or a comic.
Fandango is a raider. He is like a modern Robin Hood. He is against the power of the Union.
Angel is a ‘Hunter’. At the beginning of the story she is hunting Fandango
to collect the bounty on his head. Later she starts a tense friendship with Fandango.
Snakeater is a ‘Hunter’ as well. He is pre-potent and violent. He sacrifices everyone around him for bounty. He is Fandango’s worst enemy.
The Union Soldiers represent the power base in the wasteland. They are well trained and well equipped and they don’t have any remorse in applying
the ‘Code of the Plate’.
The Mine City Vigilantes control law and order in Mine City itself and in the wasteland. They are the non-voluntarily ‘licensed’ authority outside Utopia City. They are forced to apply the Plate’s Code, by the Union
Soldiers.
The Rebels are a part of population that try to fight the power of the Union. They hide themselves in the ruins of the old cities waiting for
the right moment to attack the Union’s convoys and troops.
Creatures
“Only the strong survive”. That is the Evolution Theory.
New Species of animals, plants and semi-human beings rule the environment outside the fortified villages and
cities.
With the alteration of the DNA caused by the atomic blasts the humans are no more the stronger species on the
Earth.
Weapons
Like a curse, the thirst of power hasn’t abandon the human race.
New models of weapons are in deployment with more destructive power and better handling.
Survival is the password in these dark ages ruled by violence and overwhelming.
Vehicles
New technologies continue to develop and new models of vehicles are designed to adapt to the new environment.
Fast cars and super-powered hovercrafts are used to assure the dominion of the land.

The A-Vault story has been conceptualised as a project aiming at the comic, videogame, animation and film industries.
The A-Vault world has been developed in four categories: Environment for a background of the A-Vault world which includes laws, economy and geographical signs. Here is given the written and visual concept for a comic and a videogame background.
Characters initially developed for comics and further developed to present within a videogame or an animated version of the A-Vault story.
Creatures, developed to support a better understanding of the environment and the dangerous characteristics of the A-Vault world.
Items, such as weaponry and vehicles to complete the imaging of this project.
