First Asian Airport to launch these brands

Pioneering momentsSingapore Changi Airport is honoured to underpin several landmark beginnings,

with various brands launching their maiden airport operations and exclusive

products in Singapore, Asia and the world.

At the forefront of travel retail, Changi Airport has introduced novel concepts

such as Vertu’s first airport boutique in South East Asia, Ferrari’s first airport

concept store outside Europe, and Sony Style’s first airport retail concept in the

world, among many distinguished others.

Singapore Changi Airport’s very first terminal

commenced its upgrading works in May 2008.

Estimated to cost S$500 million, the works will breathe

new life into this homely 27-year-old terminal that

Singaporeans and travellers alike have come to love

and associate with familiarity.

Conceptualised as Changi Airport’s very own “Tropical

City”, Terminal 1 will have its exterior façade, Departure

Kerbside, Departure Check-in Hall, Departure Transit

Mall and Arrival Hall face-lifted. The works will refurbish

the terminal’s interior design and finishes, as well as

improve passenger flow at key areas.

Come 2011, travellers can look forward to interesting

new architectural features in the refurbished terminal.

Glass and steel add a touch of modern sophistication

to the tropical setting of lush foliage and timber

accents, while maintaining the original warmth and

welcoming ambience of the terminal. The rejuvenated

terminal will also boast spacious aisles and more floor

area to expand the shopping and dining offerings,

becoming yet another perfect retail environment in

Changi Airport.Terminal 16

17

Terminal 2 has its own distinctive features and unique

selling points. The clever integration of landscape

and relaxation areas with the shopping and dining

spaces creates a cosy and stress-free environment for

passengers to browse and buy in comfort.

With a large variety of shopping and dining outlets,

passengers can indulge in hours of shopping and

dining before they depart. Specialty shops such as

Mercedes Benz and RAOUL offer wide selections of

premium merchandise that make for excellent gifts

to bring home. The terminal also offers a host of

comprehensive entertainment and leisure facilities to

delight even the most exacting passengers. With an

Entertainment Deck offering the latest computer games,

a mini movie theatre, a Family Zone, children’s play area

and enchanting theme gardens, Terminal 2 is an oasis

of pleasure and enjoyment for all passengers.

Hailed as a mall within a terminal, Terminal 3 is truly

a multi-dimensional shopping paradise that boasts

an avant-garde design. To name a few, the skylights

with louvres that allows natural light into the building

and the 300m-long Green Wall are some distinctive

features that create the soothing ambience

characteristic of Terminal 3.

The glass façades and single shopping street allow

passengers, meeters and greeters unobstructed

views of the mall, providing maximum visibility and

exposure for brands and operators at both the transit

and public shopping zones.

With its large retail space, strategic layout and

unique ambience, Terminal 3 is the ideal location for

any flagship store.
