A SAD BUT TRUE STORY
Retold by Mrs. Dunbar
WE HAD A NEW BOY START IN OUR CLASS TODAY. HE WAS ALL SHINY AND NEW AND EAGER TO LEARN.We thought he’d fit in nicely to our harmonic classroom.
THE OTHER LEARNERS OF THE CLASS THOUGHT THAT HE WAS COOL BECAUSE HE WAS SHINY AND NEW.This was going to be a great new experience for little Thesaurus!
YET, AFTER ONLY A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME, THE OTHER LEARNERS OF THE CLASS REALISED THAT HE WAS VERY DIFFERENT.They started leaving poor Thesaurus out of their games.
THIS MADE LITTLE THESAURUS VERY SAD.He didn’t want to be different all by himself.
SOMETIMES I WOULD FIND HIM ON THE PARK ALL BY HIMSELF.The other learners would tease him and call him synonyms.
POOR THESAURUS TRIED VERY HARD TO FIT IN. HE GOT VERY SAD.He tried to fit in by being braver than he should.
THESAURUS COULD DO NOTHING RIGHT
I would often find him being bullied at school.
SADLY THESAURUS BECAME A RECLUSE. He locked himself away from the other learners.
BEING UNIQUE CAN BE HARD SOMETIMES.
My plight to you is this...Have you any spare thesaurus that could help my little fellow feel more at home. Can you donate just one or 10? If so, please send it to ...
Room 23.
We thank you for helping us. We plan to set up a thesaurus crisis line for thesauruses in need.
N.B There was no cruelty to thesaurus during the making of this powerPoint
