Aims

to compare and contrast two different photographs
to describe what is happening in a photograph
1. Look at the photographs and say briefly what you see in each.
Are there any similarities between the two pictures? What are the
main differences between them?
2. You are going to hear someone talking about the photographs.
Number the questions in the order in which the speaker talks about
them.
3. Look at sentences 1-5. Try to complete them without listening
to the recording.
4. Listen to the recording and check your answers or complete
the sentences.
5. Look at the photographs for a few moments. Describe what is
happening in each of them. Focus on what you can see in each
picture.
6. Write down sentences using the appropriate words/ phrases of
comparison/contrast.
