Combination Motorcycle

Since the 1920s, combination motorcycles were used for patrol, traffic duties

and transporting a senior officer. Combination motorcycles were used in the

Force until the 1970s when they were gradually phased out.

Emergency Unit Vehicle

For fast boarding and alighting, open-sided patrol wagon was used by

Emergency Units for patrol and emergency responses in 1950s.

in the pre-war period.

Mobile Police Command Car

The mobile command car was deployed in the 1950s to the scene of a large

disaster or similar incidents. The vehicle was installed with communication

equipment and office facilities for senior officers performing command

functions at the scene.

Rural Patrol Vehicle

The vehicle was commonly used for Emergency Units in 1940s – 1960s for

day-to-day rural patrol, some fitted with flashing light, siren and radio.

Traffic Patrol Vehicle

The white traffic police patrol car was common in 1960s – 1970s with its roof

installed with two blue lights and a siren.

Mobile Canteen

The mobile canteen was used in the 1950s to transport meals to the site of

operation where facility for provision of meals to police officers was lacking. It

was equipped with insulated containers for cooked food.

Solo Motorcycle

The motorcycle was used for general traffic patrol in 1950s – 1960s.

Motorcycle patrols played an important role in keeping the traffic in order as

well as safety of the road.
