organized by the institution during the last five years
2017-2018
Report on Elocution on the topic “ Gender Equity & Sensitization ”
An Elocution on the topic “ Gender Equity & Sensitization ” was conducted for the
students of III B.Tech Mechanical students on 17-03-2018 to make students aware of the
problems the society is going to face in future due to gender ratio imbalance. Students
spoke about the role of youth in increasing the ratio of girls in the society. How
technology could be applied to bring about a change in the society regarding gender
equity was also highlighted by students who participated in the elocution.
Report on “Breast Cancer and Cervical Cancer” seminar
Internal Compliance Committee (ICC) organized a seminar on Breast Cancer and Cervical
Cancer on 19/12/2017 by Dr Sulochana Devi Cherukuri, M.D.(USA), Ravi’s American Cancer
Care for I B.Tech girl students. In her presentation, she explained in detail the causes of breast
cancer and cervical cancer in women and how to diagnose breast cancer in the early stages.
Before she concluded, she interacted with the students and clarified their doubts. All the ICC
members were present on the occasion.
Report on Defense Skills Training & Workshop
Defense Skills Training
Workshop by K. Ravi Babu
was conducted for I B.Tech
girl students by ICC in
association with Inner Wheel
Club, Midtown, Vijayawada
from 10-12-17 to 29-12-17
with the following objectives
1. To empower women. 2.
To enable them to defend
against any type of physical
assault. 3. To build self
confidence so that they can
contribute meaningfully to
their own development, shape their own destiny and capacity enhancement through Self-defense
training.
The program was headed by Mr. K. Ravi Babu and JKA.AP was the Chief instructor. Our faculty
Mrs. Y. Kumari, Mrs. A. Rama Devi, Mrs.G. Padmaja , Mrs. S. N. Bhargavi, Mrs. N. V.
Malavika, S. Sravya has participated along with 98 girls students of I B. Tech. participated in the
event.Judo Training: Even in this modern era, violence against girl students has become very
common. So, it is very essential that girl students should practice the techniques of self-defense
which empowers them to fight against crime. With this very objective, Judo training is given to
our girls by our Judo trainer Ms. N. Usha Rani. All the equipment is provided for Judo training
and the college has a very competent Judo girls team.
Report on Cookery contest
Cookery contest to promote gender equality is conducted every year for students and staff .We
all know that cooking is one of the basic necessities in today’s life. May be it a boy or a girl,
everyone should know the basics of cooking. Many times boys have to go far away from their
family in case of better education, better earnings, etc. So if they know cooking they can prepare
their own food and does not have to depend on others for their food. Keeping all these objectives
in mind, the Department of MBA organized a competition in Cookery on 9/12/2017 in which
boys gave a tough competition to girls.
Report on Breast Cancer Awareness programme
A seminar on Breast Cancer Awareness by Dr. Ravi Kanth Yarlagadda, Oncologist,
NRI Hospital: Dr. Ravikanth Yarlagadda gave a seminar on Breast Cancer Awareness on
24/10/2017 in which the girl students of MBA participated. In his presentation, he explained in
detail the causes of breast cancer in women and how to diagnose breast cancer in the early
stages. Before he concluded, he interacted with the students and clarified their doubts. All the
ICC members were present on the occasion.
2016-2017
Report on Women’s day celebrations
Women’s day celebrations (08/03/2017). Every year Women Grievances Cell (ICC) celebrates
Women’s Day with the following objectives: 8-3-2017.
➢ To empower girl students by inviting influential women speakers as chief guests.
➢ To explore their innate talents by conducting different competitions and utilize them to
the maximum for the betterment of the society.
➢ To create a feel of empathy among the youth to their fellow beings.
For these celebrations, Dr. K. Madhavi, Vijayawada was invited as the chief guest. In her
emotional address, she remarked that the present day youth should sacrifice some time
for the betterment of the society which would bring a sea-change in the existing scenario.
Prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions.
Report on Sports and Games for girl students
From 17-12-2016 to 19-12-2016, with an objective of developing integrity, patience,
concentration and dedication among girl students, the college conducts different sports and
games regularly after 4:00pm in the college. Students participate in both indoor and outdoor
games. Games like throw ball, kabbaddi, Tennicoit, Kho-kho etc are organized very
systematically by the physical directors. Consequently, number of girls have participated in inter
and intra collegiate competitions and have won lot many prizes. Special training in Judo is also
given which resulted in the formation of a very strong Judo girls team. This team has brought
remarkable laurels to our college.

boys gave a tough competition to girls.

PSCMRCET is committed to provide a range of services to meet the needs of our students in
prospects of self protection. Hence, an event on defense skills was conducted from 12-12-2016
to 23-12-2016 in collaboration with Inner Wheel Club as steps towards a safer and secure life.
The program was headed by Mr. K. Ravi Babu and JKA.AP was the Chief instructor. Our faculty
Mrs. Y. Kumari,Mrs. A. Rama Devi, Mrs.G. Padmaja , Mrs. S. N. Bhargavi, Mrs. N. V.
Malavika, G.Anuradha has participated along with 98 girls students of I B. Tech. participated in
the event.
2015-2016
Report on gender equity promotion programs organized by
PSCMR College of Engineering and Technology
Sri Paul Raju, DCP, Vijayawada was invited as the chief guest for Sports Day Celebrations on
11/03/2016. A lot number of competitions like Throw ball, kabaddi, kho-kho, shuttle badminton,
tennicoit, etc were conducted for girls on the occasion of sports day. Sri Paul Raju, in his speech,
motivated girls to aim for IPS and serve the nation. He also said that there is a lot of space for
women in police services. He explained how to grab a job in the police department without much
difficulty. Finally, prizes were distributed to the winners in various competitions and he
congratulated all the participants and best performers.

objectives in mind, the Department of MBA organized a competition in Cookery on 3.12.2015 in
which boys gave a tough competition to girls.

Report on Women’s Day Celebrations
Women’s Day Celebrations: Women’s Day was celebrated on 8/3/2015 for which Dr.
V.Sridevi, Pediatrician, Mamata Children’s Hospital was invited as the chief guest. While talking
to the students, she said that today’s adolescent girls are suffering from thyroid, obesity,
migraine problems, etc at a very young age due to lack of physical exercise and over stress. She
gave very valuable tips for health care management which makes them physically fit and strong.
She also suggested students to take balanced diet and avoid eating road-side foods. Prizes were
distributed by the chief guest to the winners of various competitions. All the female faculty
members were present on the occasion.
Report on “Being a girl in today’s world” by S. Snigdha
A motivation talk on “Being a girl in today’s world” by S. Snigdha, Asst Prof., Civil
Department, MIC college of engineering and technology, on 06-01-2015. Students of civil
engineering participated in this event .
Report on workshop on defense skills
PSCMRCET is committed to provide a range of services to meet the needs of our students in
prospects of self protection. Hence, a workshop on defense skills was conducted as steps
towards a safer and secure life. The program was conducted 15-12-2014 to 28-12-2014 and was
headed by Mr. K. Ravi Babu and JKA.AP was the Chief instructor. Our faculty Mrs. Y.
Kumari,Mrs. A. Rama Devi, Mrs.G. Padmaja , Mrs. S. N. Bhargavi, Mrs. N. V. Malavika has
participated along with 371 girls students of I B. Tech. participated in the event.

Report on campaign on Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. A campaign, to increase awareness of the disease,
a Programme on Breast Cancer was conducted on 9/10/2013. A few of the ways that one can
help women in need were delivered by Dr Sulochana Devi Cherukuri, M.D.(USA).
Report on a lecture on gender discrimination
Convener, Internal compliance committee Prof. Y. Kumar gave lecture on gender
discrimination and power of being a woman to students of B.tech. on 8.8.2013.
