Loosen and remove the 2 bolts that secure the factory airbox to the vehicle. 5. Separate the fresh air duct from the factory intake and completely remove. 2. Unplug the air temperature sensor from the harness clip. 7. Loosen the hose clamp at the throttle body. 10. Push the provided grommet into the air temp. sensor vent tube on the K&N ® intake tube. Then install the air temp sensor into the grommet. 3. With pliers, depress the hose clamp and remove the crankcase vent (CCV) hose. 8. Remove the factory airbox by pulling away from the throttle body and lifting upwards. 11. Install the provided threaded studs into the filter adaptor. 4. Unclip the fresh air duct. 9. Remove the air temperature sensor from the factory airbox. 12. Install the gasket onto the filter adaptor as shown. Turn off the ignition and disconnect the negative battery cable. NOTE: Disconnecting the negative battery cable erases pre-programmed electronic memories. Write down all memory settings before disconnecting the negative battery cable. Some radios will require an anti-theft code to be entered after the battery is reconnected. The anti-theft code is typically supplied with your owner’s manual. In the event your vehicles’ anti-theft code cannot be recovered, contact an authorized dealership to obtain your vehicles anti-theft code. TO START:

    6.Loosenandremovethe2boltsthatsecurethefactoryairboxtothevehicle.

    5.Separatethefreshairductfromthefactoryintakeandcompletelyremove.

    2.Unplugtheairtemperaturesensorfromtheharness clip.

    7.Loosenthehoseclampatthethrottlebody.

    10.Pushtheprovidedgrommetintotheairtemp.sensor vent tube on the K&N® intake tube. Then installtheairtempsensorintothegrommet.

    3.Withpliers,depressthehoseclampandremovethe crankcase vent (CCV) hose.

    8.Removethefactoryairboxbypullingawayfromthethrottlebodyandliftingupwards.

    11.Installtheprovidedthreadedstudsintothefilteradaptor.

    4.Unclipthefreshairduct.

    9.Removetheairtemperaturesensorfromthefactoryairbox.

    12.Installthegasketontothefilteradaptorasshown.

    14. Install the provided rubber mounted stud into thethreadedholewherethefactoryairboxwasmounted.

    18. Attach the silicone hose to the crankcase vent hoseontheenginevalvecoverasshown.

    22.SecuretheK&N® intake tube to the heat shield usingtheprovidedhardware.

    15. Place the heat shield onto the rubber mounted stud,thenplacetheprovidedhardware.Pivottheheat shield around.

    19.Installtheotherendofthesiliconehosetothevent line on the K&N® intake tube.

    23.Installthe“L”bracketandsecurewiththeprovidedhardware.

    16.Placethefilterassemblyontheheatshieldasshown.Tightenthelocknutonthevibrationmount.NOTE: Heat shield should be perpendicular (90 degrees) to the battery. It may be necessary to loosen the battery and move it back to gain clearance for the heat shield

    20.Placethegasketontheheatshield,asshown.

    24.CliptheATSharnessintotheairtemperaturesensor.

    17.Attachthesiliconehosetothethrottlebodywiththe hose clamps provided.

    21.InstalltheK&N® intake tube on the heat shield first,thentothehoseonthethrottlebody.

    25.Checkforbestfit,thentightenallhardwareandhose clamps.

    13.AttachtheK&N®airfiltertotheadaptorassembly,andtightenthehoseclamp.

    26.Reconnectthevehicle’snegativebatterycable.Doublechecktomakesureeverythingistightandproperlypositionedbeforestartingthevehicle.

    27.TheC.A.R.B.exemptionsticker,(attached),must be visible under the hood so that an emissions inspector can see it when the vehicle is required to be tested for emissions. California requirestestingeverytwoyears,otherstatesmayvary.

    28.ItwillbenecessaryforallK&N®highflowintakesystemstobecheckedperiodicallyforrealignment,clearanceandtighteningofallconnections.Failure to follow the above instructions or proper maintenancemayvoidwarranty.

    1.Starttheenginewiththetransmissioninneutralorpark,andtheparkingbrakeengaged.Listenfor air leaks or odd noises. For air leaks secure hosesandconnections.Foroddnoises,findcauseandrepairbeforeproceeding.Thiskitwillfunctionidenticallytothefactorysystemexceptforbeinglouder and much more responsive.

    2.Testdrivethevehicle.Listenforoddnoisesorrattlesandfixasnecessary.

    3.Ifroadtestisfine,youcannowenjoytheaddedpowerandperformancefromyourkit.

    4.K&NEngineering,Inc.,suggestscheckingtheairfilterelementperiodicallyforexcessivedirtbuild-up. When the element becomes covered in dirt (or onceayear),serviceitaccordingtotheinstructionsontheRecharger®servicekit,partnumber99-5050or99-5000.
